Publisher's summary

Book two in an epic historical fantasy series that blurs the lines between this world and the Otherworld.

“Before Albion is one, the hero feat must be performed and Silver Hand must reign.”

The great king, Meldryn Mawr, is dead, and his kingdom lies in ruins. Treachery and brutality rule the land, and Albion is the scene of an epic struggle for the throne.

Lewis is now known as Llew in this Otherworld, and he has become a threat to the usurper Meldron. Exiled and driven from the clan, he must seek the meaning behind a mysterious prophecy — the making of a true king and the revealing of a long-awaited champion: Silver Hand.

First published more than 20 years ago, The Song of Albion Trilogy has become a modern classic that continues to attract passionate new listeners. Enter into The Silver Hand and experience the dazzling brilliance of a world like ours — yet infinitely bolder and brighter: a place of kings and warriors, bards and battles, feats of glory and honour. Excellent

Thrilling and satisfying. Better than the first book which was good but a bit of a mixed bag for me although it ended on a high note. The Silver Hand though was excellent from beginning to end. Lawhead doesn’t pull punches, he’s a brutal writer, but stops just shy of being excessively graphic. He puts his characters through the wringer, but he knows how to write a proper climax, and the end was satisfying. Excited to start the next book.

Much more action than the first book

I enjoyed the second in the series quite a bit more than the first, which plodded along slowly. There was no shortage of action in this book. At times, the solution to overcoming obstacles was pretty far fetched, contrived, and basically bordering on divine intervention. The villain/hero roles were pretty cliche and black and white. But you could connect with the heroes of the story and desire to see them succeed. I enjoyed the book overall.

Simply EXCELLENT narration!

After my initial adjustment to the author's main narrator (from Lewis in Book 1 to Tegid in Book 2) I became enthralled with the obvious talent of the narrator to express the characters as written. Love the story and have read it twice before.... Lawhead is a genius with celtic story crafting.
