About this listen
Mainstream SETI scientists and ancient alien theorists don't agree on much, but one opinion they share is that the undisputed authority on the possibility of alien existence was the late Carl Sagan (1934-1996), whose voluminous writings on the subject have had a profound influence on ETI research.
But how many Carl Sagan fans know that while the renowned scientist was at Stanford University, he produced a controversial paper, funded by a NASA research grant, that concludes that ancient alien intervention may have sparked human civilization? Author Donald L. Zygutis lays out a compelling case that points to a cover-up by the Pentagon and NASA, who may have buried it soon after it was written. How significant is the Stanford paper? The answer may lie in another question: How would a science-backed theory and search strategy to guide the discovery of alien artifacts among our own ancient civilizations impact the worldwide institutions of government, religion, and culture?

How can we make intelligent decisions about our increasingly technology-driven lives if we don’t understand the difference between the myths of pseudoscience and the testable hypotheses of science? Pulitzer Prize-winning author and distinguished astronomer Carl Sagan argues that scientific thinking is critical not only to the pursuit of truth but to the very well-being of our democratic institutions.

Story
In this 24-lesson course aimed at non-scientists, noted particle physicist Dr. Don Lincoln of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory covers more than a century of progress in physics, describing exactly how scientists reach the conclusions they do. He starts with the atom, which was long hypothesized but wasn’t definitively proven until a paper by Albert Einstein in 1905. That was just the beginning, as researchers probed ever deeper into the atom’s complex structure, leading to the weird findings of quantum mechanics.

Story
In this book, Lee McIntyre argues that what distinguishes science from its rivals is what he calls "the scientific attitude" - caring about evidence and being willing to change theories on the basis of new evidence. The history of science is littered with theories that were scientific but turned out to be wrong; the scientific attitude reveals why even a failed theory can help us to understand what is special about science.

In late 2017, scientists at a Hawaiian observatory glimpsed an object soaring through our inner solar system, moving so quickly that it could only have come from another star. Avi Loeb, Harvard’s top astronomer, showed it was not an asteroid; it was moving too fast along a strange orbit, and left no trail of gas or debris in its wake. There was only one conceivable explanation: the object was a piece of advanced technology created by a distant alien civilization.

Ultra repetitive
The author restates his opinion over and over and over and over. It is repetitive and not supported by much evidence. Also the author published this prior to much of the recent UAP interest from congress and AARO. Finally what the heck is he thinking? Aliens once visited Earth in the past… but you are bat shit crazy to believe they are still visiting us today? Totally illogical. Why would they stop showing an interest in us?

Just add Sagan
Hard to believe no one will debate this guy…quite full of himself. Just because you put a bunch of random things out there doesn’t mean the science community has to take you seriously. Also, adding the word conspiracy does you no favors. I was interested in this geek because it was about Sagan and I thought something might be here…I was wrong. Skip this one.

The book is basically the same two graphs on loop front to back. If anyone he sent it to didn’t respond it’s because it’s terrible writing about his axe grinding and pitiful self-aggrandizing . What a waste of time.
