About this listen

In the third installment in this acclaimed lesbian romance series, Jennifer Fulton brings together an ensemble cast in a story that combines themes of love and loss, renewal and spirituality and of course her trademark humor and sensuality. Successful tech industry survivor, Merris Randall does not believe in love at first sight until she meets songwriter, Olivia Pearce. But Olivia is deeply scarred from a damaging relationship, and has no plans to love again. Thrown together in a sensuous paradise thousands of miles from home, each woman discovers the unexpected--in herself and in life. UCLA anthropologist Dr. Glenn Howick is also on Moon Island, chasing the career-making discovery of a lifetime. Glenn must decide if she can exploit the woman-centered spirituality of another culture. A moral dilemma also looms when post-grad student whose love threatens both Glenn's reputation and her most secret self. Life seems complete for the island's owners, Cody and Annabel, but there's trouble in paradise. As preparations underway for the secret rituals local women conduct on Moon Island, Annabel's cousin Melanie shows up with a young baby and a desperate problem.

Excellent audio!

I loved The Sacred Shore. This is the third book in the Moon Island series. The series gets better and better. Loved all the guests in this episode. Brittni Pope does an excellent job with the narration.

Like a Fine Wine

This is a very good book and I have enjoyed listening to it more than once. It begins slowly with more detail on the characters background than I usually like but the author likes the reader to know the characters before they make it to Moon Island. Initially I didn't enjoy this story as much as I did the first two books of this series, in fact I felt it was not on the same level as the first two, in some ways I was right, it's better, a very sensitive and well nuanced read/listen it picks up speed significantly after the guests land on the island.. The segment of the story involving Annabel's cousin is excellent, it's moving and sad and used as a way to make Cody and Annabelle parents. The role of Trudy initially seems like something of a throwaway character but she surprisingly she grows and plays a significant role in the narrative. There is one more volume of the Moon Island series available in print and I'm hoping that it will soon be accessible on Audible as well.

Not as good as the two previous ones

I loved the first two books, the story was wonderful, even if the narration not so much, but the third one, Secret Shore is not as good, and with this bored voice of Brittni Pope it took a lot of effort on my behalf to get tot the end of this book.
it is not a bad book it is just not up to the other ones.
