Great books, but....

Though written out of chronological order. Each book can be listened to independently. The world building is exquisite. The characters are each well defined. The story incredible and believable. I recommend the complete series. There is only one glaring issue. The various narrators cannot pronounce the same identical words the same way. Good gods, this is English!!! What, they cannot listen to the other books and give it continuity????? If I was Catherine Asaro, I would fire all the producers and get one talented narrator and redo all of the books. She has made a great deal of money on the books. But I still really like the books!

Great Story Bad reader

I loved the book just like I loved all of the other ones in this series.
The only thing that drove me crazy is that the reader did not listen to any of the other books before she read this book, and she mispronounced some of the main titles.
I feel that if Audible is going to use different readers for a series they should at least make them listen to the first book so that even if the pronunciation is wrong in the first book at least that way the rest will be the same.

Great story but crappy production

Sadly the narrator is terrible. She mispronounces SO many words, even common everyday words. When she speaks in the characters voices she speaks haltingly like a robot. There is long pauses in the oddest spots and she miss speaks alot. All of which the director, producer and editor should have caught and fixed. If I were the author I'd be very angry about how they butchered my book.

the voice acting is lacking

I havent listened to many audio books but have been to public readings. This voice acting was mostly flat or forced. bad work done on a good book

Horrible narrator

Would you be willing to try another one of Suzanne Toren’s performances?

NO!!! Insanely horrible reading. It would be common sense for the reader to listen to a prior reading just for the sake of consistent pronunciation. Obviously the best thing to do is stick to one narrator throughout the series of books. However, when that can't happen for whatever reason it would be good if the new reader would listen to the old reader and get a sense for the pronunciation used in the past.

The original did such a good reading. I think this is the 3rd or 4th reader for this series. I thought the last one was bad, this one is even worse!

Any additional comments?

Audible, while I realize you don't own all the audio companies that record these books there still needs to be some kind of consistancy. How exactly that is done I don't know. But some of these readings are so bad it boggles the mind.

And lastly, I hate all these idiotic questions. I just want to write a review. Unless there is some direct link for other books we can menu select, I don't see the point of typing in other books I'd suggest readers of this book read. You guys don't seem to understand technology at all. Fire the morons and hire people with common sense. This method you employ is really really stupid.
