Not Quite Ready

This story needs a better editor. it has a good premise and interesting core, but lacks a LOT of polish. The characters need to be fleshed out more and the details the author does give are then beaten into the reader repeatedly.

Touching story with beautiful narration

"The Roses Were White" (2016) by CS Patra is a touching story about the budding love between Allison, a highly educated but unemployed woman, and Tabitha, a successful widow; both who have had their hearts broken in the past. The PG rated audiobook, which runs only two hours and forty-two minutes, is captivating and exemplifies how acting on one’s feelings involves taking risks. Narrator Karin Allers is perfect. Highly recommended. Book given free in exchange for honest review.

I really tried to like it but

I couldn't get past the narrator sounding like Viola Davis. Creepy. Then the story.... if I were a straight girl contemplating bi/lesbianism I'd run like hell now. The main character is bat shyt crazy. She met this woman and went out a few times and got distraught because she wouldn't say those three words? After knowing her for what, a month or so? Psycho! I'm sorry but it was a super weird and creepy story and the narrating didn't help one bit.

Horrible

I can't count the times I yelled, "I want my money back." The narrator was like a sleeping pill. Her voice made this already pathetic story even worse. The concept of the story had potential actually but poorly written. Unrealistic love, falling in love, and expectation of love. Next to the narrator's voice being such a drag was the constant mention of Allison's masters degree. Her degree was mentioned so much it sounded elementary and dumb. They used the masters degree as if it was the most amazing feat ever conquered by humans. Save your time, don't buy this crap.
