Publisher's summary

Critics of President Obama have attacked him as a socialist, an African American radical, and a big-government liberal. But somehow the critics have failed to understand what’s truly driving Barack Obama. Now best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza throws out these misplaced attacks in his new book, The Roots of Obama’s Rage.

D’Souza explains that the reason Obama appears to be working to destroy America from within is found, as Obama himself admits, in The Dreams of My Father: a deeply hostile anticolonialism. Instilled in him by his father, this worldview has led President Obama to resent America and everything we stand for.

Viewing Obama through this anticolonialism prism and drawing evidence from President Obama’s own life and writings, D’Souza masterfully shows how Obama is working to weaken and punish America here and abroad. From enacting crippling financial reforms to setting artificial withdrawal dates in Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama is trying to muzzle the capitalism which he sees as exploiting the weak. Our president, argues D’Souza, is more concerned with being labeled as America the Oppressor than winning the war on terror.

The Roots of Obama’s Rage reveals Obama for who he really is: a man driven by the anticolonial ideology of his father and the first American president to actually seek to reduce America’s strength, influence, and standard of living. Controversial and compelling, The Roots of Obama’s Rage is poised to be the one book that truly defines Obama and his presidency.

Dinesh D’Souza is the best-selling author of several books, including What’s So Great about America, What’s So Great about Christianity, and Life after Death. He has been a White House policy analyst, a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and a fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He lives in Rancho Santa Fe, California, with his wife Dixie and their daughter Danielle.

Excellent Book

This is an excellent book by Dinesh. He lays it out perfectly of who Barrack Obama really is, and everything Dinesh tells us can be checked on.. Recommended reading for all conservatives. All I can say is Obummer hoodwinked the whole country, you really have to read this, his roots of rage all go back to his father....He was Obama #1 during his campaign to become president, then once he became president he became Obama #2...Really you have to read or listen to this book.

Great & Important Reading (listen) to Understand O

I read the book and decided to buy the audio to play when subject of our president arises. I feel this is an important book that clearly spells out how Obama is 'right on track' with his Socialist agenda...and the ruin of America. I hope (and wish) people would wake up and see what kind of person we voted into office. Our president has been so secretive about his past and in the small amount of research I've done to find out who and where he really comes from, found road blocks to stop the information. I hope everyone (pro & con Obama) will at least read this book.

An Enlightening Look Behind Obama's Mask

I thought Obama was a closet Marxist, but D'Souza explains it better. Obama is living his fathers dream. His father was an Anti Colonialist/Imperialist with Marxist leanings and his mission was to fight the British Empire. Anti Colonialism is not well understood in the US (it is weel understood in the rest of the world), so Obama can follow in his father's footsteps without arousing suspicion. His hidden agenda is to achieve equality for the ex colonies by reducing the power and influence of ex imperial powers like Great Brittan, France as well as the US empire. So Obama's domestic and foreign policies are often puzzling, but well explained by D'Souza.

A must for anyone that cares about the U.S.A.

Even though this volume is over 10 years old, it provides an honest look at the forces trying to bring down our great nation from the inside.

Unpacking the Why

A likely accurate theory of the psychological tentacles that explain Obama's reign, motives, and results!

Eye Opening

After reading this book I see Obama in a whole new light. I now understand the roots of Obama's thinking. Now his agenda makes perfect sense to me and is even more disturbing. Every time I hear Obama speak now, I know that I am really hearing his father who was a sad, bitter and wrong thinking man who held extreme resentments against western culture.

Great read. Highly recommended.

Would you listen to The Roots of Obama’s Rage again? Why?

Yes. It is full of interesting facts and the writer's style is very conversational.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Many facts about the president that our press failed to uncover that leads to a plausible explanation for the president's decisions.

What about Sean Runnette’s performance did you like?

Easy to listen to with comfortable tempo. His use of inflection communicates a reasonable level of emotion through out the book.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

The president's father was a Kenyan who believed 100% tax could be justfied if it was beneficial to programs he supported.
