"We want you to do it again."

These words, spoken to Brian Robeson, will change his life. Two years earlier, Brian was stranded alone in the wilderness for 54 days with nothing but a small hatchet. Yet he survived.

Now the government wants him to go back into the wilderness so that astronauts and the military can learn the survival techniques that kept Brian alive. Soon the project backfires, though, leaving Brian with a wounded partner and a long river to navigate. My daughters talk about Brian throughout the day. It’s as if he has become a friend they can reference. Yesterday my 6 year old daughter was making a goal plan for 2020 and said”what’s that Brian word....oh yeah- determination”.

And, I would listen to Peter Coyote narrate the dictionary and be rapt.

Music was distracting and sometimes made the words difficult to hear but story and narrator were great! Recommend the series!

Good sequel

what an amazing sequel, doesn't suffer sexualities, feels like a continuation of hatchet. Love this story on so many levels, and how Gary writes it, amazing a good nail biter at times.
