Great Classic

This series is one of the all time top in fantasy. It is complex. The characters are fascinating. It is a huge epic. It is a breath of fresh air to be read again and again.

A Masterful Finish.

Serkis' reading voice is as much a treasure in this final installment as it is in the first two. His Gollum, as I said for TT, is better than in the films, but the voice I really fell in love with by end of this was his Sam. Gandalf and Aragorn running short of patience with the healers (and poking fun at them) was a delight, and though there is less poetry here than in the first two, it is never the less wonderful to listen to his recitation and song as ever.

The one reading to rule them all

Indescribably good. Serkis bring Tolkien to life like no other. This is the definitive performance of LOTR of our time.

One Actor to Voice Them All

In the final installment of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, we learn a great deal about Aragorn and his lineage and relationship to the elves. Andy Serkis continues to deliver with his awesome voice acting. He reads not only the conclusion of the story but the appendices at the end as well where more of the mythos and history of Middle Earth is spelled out.

If you don't want to take the time to read the books yourself, do yourself a favor and listen to Andy Serkis's reading of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

I would follow Andy Serkis into Mordor!

His performance of the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books is nothing short of incredible. To create so many unique voices and make them so distinct and identifiable is amazing - what an incredible instrument he has.
Thank you for such an enjoyable journey!!

Please Mr Serkis read everything

Andy delivers another perfect performance. Even the appendices became entertaining. Wonderful work presented in the best way. Mr Serkis recreates the movie cast and emphases the tail as if we very precious to him.

I do continue to believe that the screen adaptation of this trilogy improved upon the original. But if they were exactly the same then we would have less to enjoy.

Andy Serkis is incredible

If you have never read this epic story- and you are planning to do so, this is the absolute best way to read the Lord of the Rings. He does all the voices- and his performance throughout is a complete revelation to books read aloud. Tolkien is notorious in being one of the more difficult high fantasy series to read- but Andy Serkis brings his stories into incredible life. Best narration I have ever had in any book ever hands down!!!
