Publisher's summary
When wizard Addison Rhydderch goes out on a New Year's Eve date, he doesn't expect to end the night saving Manhattan from the undead. Afterward, he's tasked with the duties of Regent - protector of the fragile balance between the mundane and supernatural realms. The job is easier said than done, even with the aid of Saraia, a half-dryad who's as sultry as she is compassionate and strong. The attraction between them is immediate, powerful, and forbidden, but malevolent forces are threatening Saraia's nature spirit kin.
Boundaries are tested as the new ruler and his companions are swept into a treacherous game of loyalty and betrayal. Addison's office is hounded by the shadow of a dark magician who seemingly kills without rhyme or reason, a man who consorts with devils and always keeps one step ahead. Addison and Saraia, assisted by new allies, must face the demonic uprising while resisting the sparks flying between them.

Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Loving the audio books now thanks to this!
Loved the narrator! He brought the story to life. Normally i don't like audio books, but he has changed my mind. The story was exactly what I expect from the authors. Always very descriptive and leaving me wanting more at the end. Finally have been able to finish this audio book after everything that has went on. Love this series!

Wow
I picked this title out, because the blurb looked interesting. I hate to admit that it sat in my kindle for weeks.
But when I finally got around to listening, I was in love. From the opening scene, I was on the edge of my seat. Kudos to the authors for keeping the action so high, without being redundant.
The various romances are uber sexy and definitely not Harlequin. Even the bad guys are sexy.
But the best part was the narration. Will M. Watt can read to me anytime. He is simply brilliant.

Fantastic Fantasy
I loved this book! The storyline was very involved with many characters but easy to follow and so enjoyable it's hard to put down. Will M Watt does a fantastically superb job giving life to each character with their own voices and personalities. I very highly recommended thus book.

Mediocre romance novel
Any additional comments?
I was hoping for something like Dresden files or Iron druid, but this is a romance novel with only a thin veneer of plot, and is not very well written.

Bad book but AWESOME narration..
Wow, wow, wow! I’m only at 28% and I’ll bet you there’ve been 30 or more characters introduced in this book. I have no idea who I should remember and who’s just there for a minute. And it’s really confusing, too. I know there are 2 authors for this story but I don’t think they were together doing the writing. Maybe they emailed their chapters to each other then put the book together. I just hate when I get confused when reading a book AND I really hate when there’s soooo many people in the storyline. I’m going to try to finish it but I’m not really sure I can.
There are some things you just can’t unread no matter how hard you try, nor can you forget it. At around page 145 Saraia (the heroine) got drunk with Lachlan but it was Addison (the hero) who took her home and put her drunken a** to bed. Then 2 or 3 days later Saraia went to Lachlan’s antique store and proceeded to have sex with him. THEN on about page 245 she has sex with Addison.
You know what? That’s not my kind of heroine. So, I’m done with this book. I don’t know how this book got 50 four and five star reviews when the heroine was nothing was such a slut, as far as I’m concerned. I guess some reviewers don’t care if the heroine sleeps around, but I do.
There was descriptive sex in this book and the F-bomb was used 40 times.
As to the narrator: What can I say about Will M. Watt? He was absolutely, positively phenomenal. I mean to tell you he had a different voice for everyone. Addison had a Welsh accent and Noah spoke was a fantastic southern accent. There men that were young and old and every one of them sounded wonderful. He laughed and whispered and yelled, and talked with food in his mouth, which I thought was incredible. I believe his was the best narration I’ve heard in the 360+ audible books I’ve listened to. Keep up the great work Will.
