About this listen

Cole’s heart is dark. He’s a mystery, even to those closest to him in the Assassins Guild. All anyone really knows for sure is that he’s ruthless, grim, and cares little for his own life. So when he loses his memory during an attack and thinks himself a naive 18-year-old again, no one can really believe the transformation. But as his memory returns, so do the nightmares and the dark reality of who he has become.

Lucy’s world is bright. When gentle-natured Lucy falls in love with the damaged stranger, she thinks him a smiling, amiable gentleman. But rumors of a murder in the nearby village have her suspecting that her patient may be hiding a terrible secret.

Can opposites really attract? What will happen when Cole regains his memory and his past catches up to him?

This series has everything so far!

Assassins, romance, strong female leads, complicated male leads, murder, sex, Lords & Ladies...it has it all. These are good adult fun wrapped up in a period piece. I'm very excited about this series. I like the narration team no matter the few pronunciation differences or accent flaws one may argue. I'm getting over the ( paranormal )"Cozy Mystery" thing. This is a welcome change. Just enough spice & crime to step it up but not be gross. India would enjoy this series.

Great story & narrators

I love this whole series. So I decided to purchase all four books. Pretty much can’t go wrong with anything written by CJ Archer.

Better than 1st in series

I almost didn’t continue with the series after book 1. It seemed very juvenile and the conversations were silly and boring.

Thus has a much better flow and the storyline is engaging.
