About this listen

Our kind has been enslaved by the Fae for as long as this kingdom remembers. They need us to keep water in their kingdom flowing; without it, their kind would surely all perish, as not even the powerful Fae have control over the waters that feed life to everything. Somewhere along the line, they all lost that ability, as if that element revolted against them.

For over 21 years, I've been kept in the dark about my true heritage, being raised as a witch, like my auntie, that can wield water with spells. Soon I will be old enough to leave my childhood home and go beyond the protection spell that has kept me safe all these years to seek out my destiny.

A vision, perhaps even a prophecy, in the castle where I was born caused my parents to secret me away under the cover of darkness. I was saved by an unlikely partnership.

For the first time in thousands of years, the elements are set to combine into the greatest power ever known, and somehow I am the center of it all.

The power of the elements is told to bring about peace in the lands and restore life in the realm to a greatness more than it has ever been before.

No more struggles for food, no more starvation. No more taxation with penalties of death. No more hatred and fear of the rulers of the kingdom. Only prosperity, health, and maybe even something more?

Please note: This is a fantasy romance novel. It contains content that may not be suitable for young children.

great

Skyy leaves in the forest with her Auntie. She has known since she was little that she is part of a prophecy. This book has everything Witches, Mates, Fae, Water Sprites and Dragons. Skyy must find her mates and fulfill this prophecy. Can she do it? Will her mates accept her? This is a slow burn standing and the first I read from this author I am looking forward to see what else she comes up with in her future books. narrator did awesome job

Great story!

I was drawn into this world from the moment I hit play. I loved the world building and the different characters. The story packed a punch and didn’t didn’t want to stop listening once I hit start. The dynamic of the world was very interesting. I really loved the main character and how she interacted with the other characters. She’s got a lot to figure out and find out what she’s willing to fight for.

The Water Sprite Generates Steam

K. Rose creates a tumultuous and tingling tale of the Fae. In this audible version, we have the tale shared through two narrators, Kirby Kaye and Natalye Vivian.

The Prophecy of the Water Sprite is K. Rose’s debut into RH Paranormal Romance.

When the Fae enslave the water sprites to keep water in their kingdom, the prophecy of a hidden water sprite, who will come into being, after being hidden, begins her journey.

Along her dangerous adventure, elemental mates join to protect, avenge, and help bring peace over the lands.

This fantastical tale heats up with steam, as each mate joins the prophecy.

An intriguing RH fated mates fantasy romance

The Prophesy of the Water Sprite by K. Rose was a unique take on a RH fated mates fantasy romance story with a nice prophetic twist and an evil sorcerer hell bent on bringing destruction to their magical world.

While the overall tone of this story was very formal and rigid at times, and may be hard for some readers to get around, I felt like it brought a very regal addition to this story set in an elegant fae fantasy world and kind of added to the appeal of the story that way.

The story starts out with a dark Fae King and his men imprisoning Water Sprites to gain control over all the waters in the realm after two powerful mages foresaw a prophesied future—a prophecy that revolves around our sweet and shy FMC, Skyy.

Skyy always believes she was a mere witch, living with her “auntie” deep in the forest, however when her auntie dies she soon realizes she’s an integral part to a world changing prophecy…and has three fated elemental mates that she must find in order to fulfill the prophesy: Vale, Enlil and Elio.

And while it is a slow progressing story, and definitely a slow burn romance, it still had a solid plot and the connection of the characters was still enough to be intriguing and entertaining. And while there was some spice, it wasn’t as much as I was expecting with it being heavy on the instalove connections between a few of them.

Overall if you love a good RH fated mate fantasy that includes magic, mystery, prophecies and an evil villain set on destroying the land…this is the book for you! And while the narrators were a tad bit too lyrical for me, and had a much slower cadence then I prefer, the dual narration was a nice touch and i liked how they were able to change it up just enough to reflect the different characters—I just had to speed up the play to make it more enjoyable.

Impressive.

Review on the Story:
This was actually a pretty good story. Skyy and her men we great together. I loved how the story unfolded and progressed. Definitely a great read for a first time author. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Narration:
I enjoyed listening to the characters in this book being brought to life. I read the book first and really enjoyed it and listening to it was just as good. I liked how there were 2 separate narrators and how they kept to their own gender. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because I would have liked a little separation in the voices between the characters. For example when Enlil and Elio speak in their minds they sound exactly alike there is no change in voice. Same goes for the female characters.
Overall a really great story and I definitely recommend it.

Interesting world...

Gets off to a very intriguing start and the reader has the idea that they know what’s going on before the characters even do as it goes on …
A great way to execute a book about a prophecy, IMO, this was well done. The varying POVs only serves this further and keeps me intrigued despite less-than-stellar narration.

Great world-building and good character development.

I think it would’ve been more enjoyable if the steamy stuff was left out of it … not because I have any opposition to steamy at all, but because this sort of writing doesn’t seem to be a strength of this author’s. All of the spicy scenes were ones I felt I’ve read/heard before, right down to the dialogue during these times. To be fair, it certainly is hard to keep this original, but it was also cheesy at times.

The bigger issue for me was, there were entire paragraphs dedicated to his 'tight pants'. If this is to be believed, he’s just running around, sporting that, for any and no reason whatsoever, unprovoked, pretty much all of the time, like a preteen … but he’s supposed to be an adult and have 10 years on his mate. I just found it, not only implausible, but very redundant. When the male lead was talking about something other than his pants, I did find him to be a well-developed, likable character. I feel like a few thousand words collectively were probably spent on just this one, uh … attribute, and cutting the bulk of them out would take nothing away from the story. (It might actually add to it, by tightening up the manuscript as a whole and eliminating lots of repetition.)

The plot was interesting and fun and it managed to pack a moment or two that tore at my heartstrings. This author absolutely has strengths and I think they’d be amazing at writing clean speculative fiction.
I'd probably explore more from this author. But not these narrators.

3.5 stars.

Audio:
Love dual narrators, conceptually, and usually. On this one … the male sounded more robotic than human to me so I had a little trouble paying attention during his turns. (His voice is actually really hot, if he’d tone down the AI-impersonation, he’d likely be great.) The female narrator had a smooth voice, but also sounded robotic. Better than listening to AI for sure but, not narrators I’d seek more from.
There are also instances, later into the book, of words and names that were clearly spliced in. I fear the audio production team on this book took advantage of this author.

Good story

Unfortunately I could not finish listening to this book and will finish it via Kindle. The narration was too slow for my liking and there was no distinction between each character. This is dual narration which I love I just didn't care for these narrators.
