Publisher's summary

The Problem of God is written by a skeptic who became a Christian and then a pastor, all while exploring answers to the most difficult questions raised against Christianity. Mark grew up in an atheistic home, and after his father's death, began a skeptical search for truth through exploring science, philosophy, and history, asking the big questions of life, and eventually finding answers in Christianity.

In a disarming, winsome, and persuasive way, The Problem of God responds to the top 10 questions people raise against God, and Christianity, including, among others:

  • The Problem of Science
  • The Problem of God's Existence
  • The Problem of the Bible
  • The Problem of Evil and Suffering
  • The Problem of Hell
  • The Problem of Sex
  • The Problem of Hypocrisy

Each chapter answers the specific challenge using a mix of theology, philosophy, and science on the one hand, while also using stories and anecdotes. It's apologetics for the rest of us, focused on both convincing the skeptic, and informing the Christian.

Perspective

what makes this book special is the way that Mark from his own challenges communicates a concise Christian message on an array of topics. This perspective allows the book to be especially meaningful. I had to listen to it twice!

Mind...blown!

I’m a Christian and I bought this book with bad intentions; to learn how to beat the skeptics. As I listened, I realized that I had a lot to learn, and that I’m a skeptic who needed to know more. I am the very person I set out to defeat. The information is extremely powerful and the delivery is passionately delivered. Do yourself a favor and dive deep into this book. I need to listen to this 10x before I will have a solid understanding of the rich information it contains.

Good information

Mark has been to my church a few times as a guest speaker. I enjoyed his sermon when he was speaking. I like the book and the way he talks about Jesus and the Bible. It is worth a listen.

Must Read for skeptics and followers of Jesus!

Detailed work on the problems Christians must deal with. I have met Mark and he is the real deal. Nice to have it narrated by him.

Solid book

Mark has put together a very good book to help with overcoming common arguments Christians may be presented with by friends and family or anyone really. Especially now in 2023.
It’s an entertaining listen as well.

Amazing and relatable

Mark does an amazing job of explaining Christianity to non believers! What a great read, also appreciate all the Lord of the Rings references, made me chuckle.
