About this listen

Hazard King had always wanted to be an Imperial Fleet officer, just like his father.

But he’s a Prince of the Realm, which make things a bit more… complicated. And when Hazard’s parents tell him that they don’t trust his older brother and want Hazard to be the Crown Prince—the heir to the throne—things go from bad to worse. Just when it seems they can’t get any worse, the Empress is attacked.

What is a simple fleet lieutenant supposed to do with his mother in a coma, a seemingly invincible enemy on the offensive, a darkness from the past stirring, and his paranoid older brother trying to assassinate him? What Naval officers do best—improvise.

He’s going to need all his skills, as well as the help of a former spy, a handful of Marines, and a few close relatives if he’s to defend the Empire against all enemies—foreign and domestic.

Adventures of the Prince Who is Perfect

A fun story pf mil scifi if you can ignore that the main character is flat and good at everything he does. He is a military genius who comes up with new military doctrines no one has thought before and does sweeping political reforms at whim with no real opposition. Most other characters are even less developed. A fun story but not particularly good.

It was better than I thought it would be.

I saw this advertised several times on Facebook before I decided to give it a try. It was better than I thought it would be.. I’m going to continue the rest of the series.

Looking to scratch that Prince Roger itch?

I binged it, I lost sleep to this audiobook and I absolutely loved it. I would compare this to David Webers Empire of Mankind. The politics are more simplistic but this is a fun ride with well done space warfare. I do like the fact an existential enemy is present to solidify the story.

I look forward to the next book!
