Excellent perspective!

This book presents the evolution of concepts and ideas throughout history in a very unique fashion that is both informative and enjoyable at the same time. I love how the author ties in real life examples to make these ideas directly relevant. I learned many interesting things and am amazed at the breadth of knowledge of the author across so many subjects and can use them in everyday life. Very highly recommended!

worth to keep it handy

I knew author from work, where he plays an important role in design and development of cutting edge technologies in telecommunications. I knew he had always been very knowledgeable in many areas of science and technologies. However, after listening to this The periodic table of ideas, I'm still amazed by how broad his knowledge covers, and how complete the ideas this book had analyzed. I liked the way of associating idea elements into a periodic table like the chemical elements which you can easily remember and then combine them together into different molecules, just like we can program different objects together into functions etc. I also like the examples which bring the boring concepts into a reality. However, as the book had a lot of information, I was a little bit overwhelmed when I listened the whole book continually, I found that I can't remember much afterwards. Therefore, I listened again. The good news is that this book does not require you read it in order, in fact, I found it more fun to pick up a chapter I am most interested first. The more I listen the more interesting I found. Therefore, I definitely believe it's a book worth to keep and read it more frequently as you come to the point of searching for ideas.
lastly, the narrator is great. I liked his nice voice and tone, and I am also amazed by how accurately he had pronounced on those difficulty Chinese Americans last names.
