where was this bus when I was in school.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it humorous . where was this bus when I was in school? I would have kept riding the bus and not gotten up at 0430 toward to school. yes our bus was so horrible that u would rather walk an hour half to school than ride the bus. this really teaches some really good life lessons. I was disappointed to find I could not find the second book. I had the impression it was a series.

Recommend it!

This book was a fun, imaginative story with a lot of heart. Discovering who you are and who you want to be on Bus 13 would be an exciting adventure. I really enjoyed how the kids who already rode that bus liked the person they were regardless of what the other kids said or did. The characters were very likeable and I found myself getting quite invested in how their choices would affect them. Great lessons delivered in a creative and fun way. My kids heard parts of it in the car and want to listen to the whole thing now. It's always nice to read a book that you feel good about sharing with your kids.

I want to be peculiar.

This story of self discovery resonated on a far deeper level than I could have anticipated. We witness Cali’s internal dialogue as she finds the line where magic and reality blur and discovers her place along it, all the while leading us on our own personal quest to discover if we too belong among the peculiar kids of bus 13.

This is an enchanting book .

5 Stars All Day Long!!!

Our entire family loved this book. Our 2 children are 9 and 12 and it captivated all of our attention on a long road trip. We could not stop listening. The narration is wonderful you feel like you know each character. The plot is completely unpredictable and utterly fantastic!! We've listened to probably 30 or 40 audiobooks over the last couple of years and this one by far was our favorite. The only sad part is that this book is listed as book 1 of a series but it would seem that the 2nd book has not yet been released, we're eagerly awaiting Book 2 some day! BRAVO to both the author and the narrator!!!

A Wonderful Story

This is a wonderful story of a young girl named Cali. She is going to a new school and she finds herself on a bus where the other children seem very odd, or "peculiar". The first chapter is entitled "Who Are You?" This is something that Cali needs to figure out and something she explores throughout the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. It is well written and well performed. I got to know each of the children on the bus as well as Cali's parents even though they never make an appearance except for in Cali's mind. The author wrote a wonderful book and I look forward to the next in the series. I am hopeful that since this is "Book 1" that more are to come.

Magical. Engaging, Fun!

I was looking for an easy, fun listen. I got that and much more. Bus 13 is full of characters that range from slightly odd to all out magical. They take a bus ride to school to a whole new level. It's the addition of Cali that lends a layer of complexity to the story. Cali doesn't seem to have any peculiarities and wonders about her place on the bus. The "peculiar" kids seem to think they need her. Much of the story revolves around this question. The second half of the book happens after they arrive at a very normal school where the peculiar children mix in. Cali's positon among the children grows more intriguing there. The ending was satisfying. The narrator did a fine job of capturing the quirky personalities of the children. Oh, he did a great "bus driver" too. It's a great listen. I recommend it.

I hope they make it a graphic novel!

I would love to see an illustrated or graphic novel version of this tale. The Peculiar Children of Bus 13 drew out feelings of imagination that had me reminiscing of the Roald Dahl books I read as a child. Within the tale we are brought to see others with a magical sense of wonder. The children of Bus 13 are fictionally exaggerated in their abilities, but the feelings, questions, and connections they illustrate are true to life.
