Publisher's summary

Books one through three in the hit The Path of Ascension series are now available in this special audio bundle. It also includes book 3.5, an exclusive novella set between books three and four in the series.

Orphaned by monsters, Matt must power-up to save others from the same fate.

Matt plans to delve the rifts responsible for the monsters that destroyed his city and murdered his parents. But his dreams are crushed when his Tier One Talent is rated as detrimental, and no guild or group will take him.

Working at a nearby inn, he meets a mysterious and powerful couple who give him a chance to join the Path of Ascension, an empire-wide race to ascend the Tiers and become living legends.

With their recommendation and a stolen Skill, Matt begins his journey to the peak of power. Maybe then, he can get vengeance he seeks....

About the series: This is a mix between LitRPG and xianxia. It's like a car that looks like a LitRPG with dungeons and skills, but the interior and engine are all xianxia. It features a magic system and progression system that are logically and internally consistent, as well as realistic fight scenes and a rational MC.

Good book

I really enjoyed listening to all three books in one spot. I definitely enjoyed listening to the Short novella at the end.

Fantastic LitRPG adventure pack

Starts off slow and quite bleak, but gets into things fast enough that it doesn't feel like the book is dragging along. Great systems and politics thought out, the further along the series you get the more grand the story grows in scale. Enjoyable characters with some flaws to overcome, which they ofc do. in the end all the main characters endear them to the reader enough that you do care about their backstory. All in all the books are just a great easy listen. Love it.

Loved it

I don't really have anything negative to say about these books. I saw people complaining about the narration, but I loved that as well. I guess they fixed it. I think book three was rather unnecessary. There was no growth and a useless plot. They gained basically nothing. However, it was mostly entertaining.

I love this series and can’t wait for more to come. I also love it when I can get more than one book for one purchase.

Great read and good length

I like the amount of hours 1 credit gets you and the books are captivating! I just don't like some of the decisions in the fighting and even some of the squabbling during some moments. As long as you remember these people are supposed to be young and make mistakes it makes it easier to read.

Amazing Bundle, Great Read

This book series is some great progression fantasy in a well-constructed universe. Rules make sense, and it seems like a place you might actually want to live. Characters are fun but feel real. The combat and scenarios are exciting, and I like the character builds and the way they fight. Excellent buy, 90+ hours for 1 credit.

So bad and yet...

Jusr because it's 70 hours doesn't make it Brandon Sanderson. This is truly terrible - generic, cliched, overly technical in all the wrong places, even the few bright ideas are drowning in this cesspool of cringe (I swear to Christ if that stupid fox mentions ice cream one more time, I will jusr snap) - I'd go on but this book just reeks of author self-insertion to the point that I feel bad enough trashing it this much... and the narration doesn't do it any favors. Most characters sound like if there was an episode of Rick and Morty where Morty tried to do voice acting... except for Prince Albert, who inexplicably gets a Brando-like mumble growl.

It's a freaking train wreck and I couldn't look away. I'd give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could. No notes.

Loved this series

From the narrator to the books I wouldn't change a thing about this series. I was drawn in from the beginning and haven't been able to put it down.

Done with them all

Overall - This story is really well written and the narrator is awesome. Really brings it to life. If you like RPGs, you’ll love this book series. There’s a LOT of world building as the author has quite the setting here. I just hope we see at least 5 tiers every 2 books. I really don’t want such a good story that will never end.
Book 1 - I was pleasantly surprised by this story. It takes what I like from various works and beautifully weaves into a story. As of the end of book 1, there’s good story progression and just the right amount of detail for world building. The writer is great and so is the narrator!
Book 2 - This one felt a lot shorter. As so often happens in these types of stories, progression drastically slows down but the content was still interesting. This one spent a lot more exploring the consequences of characters’ actions and their growth pathways. Not as novel as Book 1 but still entertaining.
Book 3 - This book series seems to be getting more and more focused on war. I do appreciate when the author can break out of that to give different more interesting ways or conditions for the characters to advance. Quite a lot of advancement in this book though. Very happy to see there’s at least 2 more books to go through.
Book 3.5 - It was fun to see things from Melinda and her group’s perspective. We didn’t get to hear that much from them during the vassal war. And she is clearly important to the empire’s future. Worth the listen.
