About this listen

A second chance doesn't mean second best!

Elizabeth O'Connell has survived one of the worst betrayals a wife can imagine. Finding out that she wasn't the only woman in her husband's life meant the end of her marriage and a year of personal hell. Now she's focusing on her new business and raising her two kids.

Carter Hudson isn't part of her plan. When he's introduced to Liz by well-meaning friends, her dislike is instant. But as she spends time with him, Liz realizes she likes having Carter in her life. More than likes it. However, Carter has secrets in his past that he can't seem to escape, secrets that apparently involve a woman. Liz is sure of one thing: She'll never be the other woman again!

Good Read

This was a good read. The author is a great storyteller and bring in many unexpected twist and turns keeping the reader engaged. Also enjoy this narrator’s ability to bring the characters to life.

Change the cover!

I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks and have never left a single review, but the fact that Liz is described as having long blonde hair throughout the entire book, yet there's a short haired brunette on the cover drives me crazy! It's a good listen but DO something about the mismatched cover. This isn't rocket science!

Enjoyed and disliked?

I enjoyed the book, but listening to the narrator was equivalent to hearing fingernails being scraped down a chalk board.

I do not understand why Tara used Carter’s Bronx accent for the majority of the other characters. At times it made differentiating them almost impossible.
