Publisher's summary

When Regan was a young girl living in the small town of Altus, OK, Kellan was just her brother’s best friend. Then the virus came, turning the world’s population into zombies, and he became so much more. They were only kids, but he saved her. Watched over her. Kept her alive. And nine years of living in the Oklahoma wastelands hasn’t changed that. Fighting both zombies and men, overcoming loss and heartbreak, and clinging to secrets that could rip their world apart, Regan and Kellan must work together to survive when a new and deadly group moves into the area.

A great romance in zombieland

I enjoy Kaye L Mary and this was no exception to the rule! The world draws from our own zombie lore while also using our own movies and tv shows as actual character references. The romance between the 2 MCs is sweet and passionate, driven by life before the apocalypse and circumstances. The villain is a horrible person and the clustered communities are all Unique. Narration was great as well!

A must read!

I love Kate’s books and when I picked up this series I was unable to put it down until I was finished. It was engaging right from the start.

Great Read

The Oklahoma Wastelands Series: The Complete Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Box Set (Oklahoma Wastelands) was a goo read by Kate L. Mary. This box set consists of; The Loudest Silence, The Brightest Darkness, and The Sweetest Torment. Regan grew up in the small town of Altus, OK; and growing up Kellan was her brother's best friend. Unfortunately a virus came that turned the world's population into zombies. For nine years they fight zombies and other people. I really enjoyed these books and can't wait to read more by the author.

Is it the right read for me?

The story has more romance than some would like, but was just the right amount to me. Seeing the couple weather the same apocalypse together was heartwarming and heart-retching at the same time. Reading about a new family coming together and all of the trials and tribulations they faced had me on the edge of my seat. The people reading the book had soothing voices and made the reading less monotonous which I’m greatful for. Finished the whole trilogy in three days and was worth every penny.

Meh

I couldn't get through this one. I loved the Silent World series, but this one, this one just wasn't as impactful and didn't keep my attention at all. At. All. I like the fact that the stories intertwine, but the main character annoyed the crap out of me, and it just seemed the story drug on and on without anything actually happening. I'm sure some people will love it, I for one did not. The Silent World series though, was epic!

One of the worst male protagonists I've ever read

Holy Jesus the brothers best friend gets old real fast. Control freak poster child that tells every single person what to do. while making retarded decisions to boot. he actually tells another grown ass man that he can't get laid while banging his gf all over the state.

Please

If you are older than 12, please do not waste your credits. So predictable that there are times you are writing the next line. If you want an adult well written book...read T.W. Piperbroke or Sarah Lyons Fleming. This book is filled with repeated predictable situations that "Oh goodness, how did that happen again?" There was a plot, but never any build-up or suspense. A young boy and girl ventured into their twenties before confessing their love for each other. After that, you wish they never had! If you are 12 and your Mom allows you to read Zombie books, then this is for you.
