About this listen

My parents seem to be the perfect couple. But no one knows what I know....

Everyone in the small Midwestern town of Henderson looks up to my perfect parents. With dependable jobs as a midwife and the town sheriff, they help this close-knit community feel safe. But the locals didn’t grow up in my parents’ house. They don’t know what I know. And they wouldn’t believe me if I told them....

After my best friend vanished when we were just 15, I left town and never looked back. I couldn’t prove it, but I think my parents killed her.

Now, years later, my little sister has vanished. I have no choice but to go home and play happy families again. Because I have to find out what my parents have done to her. I have to try to save her.

But when bones are discovered on a local farm, and all the evidence leads back to our front door, I realize I was wrong about absolutely everything. And that coming back was the deadliest thing I could do....

An utterly gripping listen that will have you on the edge of your seat long into the night. If you like Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell, and Gone Girl you will love The Night She Vanished.

great story, but the lead character was....awful

ok so, I really enjoyed the book. great storyline and unexpected twists. however the main character. Nicole, was the worst. she just whined like a petulant child and concocted crazy theories about her parents for nearly everything that went wrong.

Honest review

I tried to like it. I tried to not let the absolute train wreck of a main character ruin it for me. But alas, I could not get passed the mind blowing stupid decisions made by such a whiny and weak female character. I had to finish it because that’s who I am but I guessed the ending with 6 hours left to listen along with the other “twists” and “turns”.

Good story but not exactly a nail biter

A woman, estranged from her family, returns home after learning of her sister’s disappearance. She believes that her father was involved in the disappearance of her 14yo best friend 15yrs ago and that her mother covered for him. When the bones of her friend are discovered, things get more complicated. Lots of twists and turns and every time the h things she’s figured things out…she’s wrong. Good story but the h just didn’t appeal to me.

Letdown ending

I was excited to listen to this book, but was letdown by the ending. There are two cases you are trying to solve and if you listen to a lot of psychological thrillers than you probably will assume you have figured it out. But then more and more factors kept getting thrown in and ultimately it just got boring.
Good narrator though.
