Editorial reviews

The Monkey's Paw and Other Stories brings together a collection of spooky stories, over a century old, from such enduring writers like Robert Louis Stevenson, Sarah Orne Jewett, and Kate Chopin.

The title story by W.W. Jacobs is about a cursed monkey’s paw from India that grants wishes that come with terrible twists. In this performance, a cast of actors perform various roles resulting in a cross between a radio play and an audiobook. The same treatment is applied to other stories, including Mary Shelley’s "Mortal Immortal", in which a man drinks a potion that grants him immortality.

The stories in this collection make for perfect listening for fans of horror writing interested in the roots of the genre.

Included are one of the best horror stories ever written, 'The Monkey's Paw', as well as fascinating stories by Robert Louis Stevenson, Mary Shelley, Mary E. Wilkins Freeman, Sarah Orne Jewett, and Kate Chopin." (Booklist)
