About this listen

Where is the hope in grief for a young Amish widow?

Sylvia has been nearly paralyzed with grief and anxiety since the tragic death of her husband, father, and brother in a traffic accident. She tries to help in the family's greenhouse while caring for her two young children, but she prefers not to have to deal with customers. Her mother's own grief causes her to hover over her children and grandchildren, and Sylvia seeks a diversion. She takes up birdwatching and soon meets an Amish man who teaches her about local birds. But Sylvia's mother doesn't trust Dennis Weaver, and as the relationship sours, mysterious attacks on the greenhouse start up again.

This is a good series. I will look forward to the 3rd in the series.

Honestly, sometimes it was a bit corny, maybe overkill on the politeness and cordial manner amongst the characters. It sometimes made me uncomfortable. Also, the book ends abruptly, without resolution.
However, I only read “clean”, and very much appreciate the wholesome exchanges, and story.
Like I said, I’m waiting for the next installment.

Thank you W. Brunstetter.

Looking forward to “Robins call” next

This is the second book in an Amish mystery series. I was so happy to see how it panned out, but the mother in this series gets on my nerves. First, vandalism occurs on the property and she doesn't want to call the cops. An old lady steals things from her and then, the old lady takes her grandchild without permission and she doesn't call the cops? Then after her daughter mourns the death of her husband and finally finds love again, she gives such attitude about it? Yea, to say I don't care for Belinda King is an understatement.

But, I love the characters of Amy and Sylvia which is funny since I didn't care for Sylvia in the first one. I am anxious to read the final book to see who has been doing all the vandalizing.

Loved it
