About this listen

Two strangers take the road less traveled....

Heather Mulgrew's world is already mapped out: She is going to travel abroad with her friends after college, come back to a great career in September, and head into a life where not much is left to chance. But that was before an encounter on an overnight train introduces her to Jack, a passionate adventurer who changes the course of her journey and her life. Throwing Heather's careful itinerary to the wind, they follow Jack's grandfather's journal through post-World War II era Europe: Vienna, Budapest, Turkey - exotic places that serve only to heighten their feelings. As September looms, Jack urges Heather to stay with him, to keep traveling, to give in to the romance of their experience; Heather convinces him to return to the United States.

Jack has a secret that could change everything. And Heather's world is about to be shaken to the core.

The Map That Leads to You is a breathtaking audiobook about love, loss, and the best-laid plans that are meant to be broken.

Lackluster

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book. I wanted to like it, and I am really not that hard to please. I usually don't have high expectations but this book was anticlimactic in too many ways. I felt like I was being strung along and continued to wait for some turn of events that would finally grab my interest or pull me in. It was very uninspired and honestly just some recycled storyline of too many other books.

Has The Map That Leads to You turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, it has not.

Have you listened to any of Brittany Presley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Her performance was excellent, it was the storyline and content of the book that was uninspired.

Was The Map That Leads to You worth the listening time?

No, unfortunately it was not!

Ahhhhmazing

If you could sum up The Map That Leads to You in three words, what would they be?

Breathtakingly, beautifully haunting

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack was definitely my favorite. I loved him from the first witty conversation.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I actually did listen in one sitting. I couldn't stop.

Any additional comments?

I probably wouldn't have bought this book if I knew it would make me cry ugly tears. I'm so glad I didn't know. This is probably my favorite book this year, and one I'll listen to again.

Great Story

I have to admit I didn't think I would like this book. As a matter of fact the two main characters at times annoyed me. Whether it was something they said or something they did. But as the story went on I begin to enjoy it. I begin to understand the main characters Jack and Heather. They are both young people who are learning to be adults. Heather plans her future, Jack goes with the flow. The story is an easy read but at the same time has some meaning to it. I have to admit, the story was good I really enjoyed it I think anyone who reads it will enjoy it. Just remember it's just a story, but love can come to anyone at any time and at any age.

Great narration, sappy story

OMG, this was such a sappy, overly sentimental story. Ok, maybe it's just not for me....I don't read Nicholas Sparks, either. The two primary characters engage in endless dialogue that is supposed to be clever bantering but just sounds snarky. A totally predictable plot, draaaaaged out. The only bright light is the narrator, Brittany Pressley. Give that woman an Audie!
