About this listen

Why is self-image so important?

As I explained in my first book, Psycho-Cybernetics, the self-image is your conception of the sort of person you are. It is a product of past experiences, successes and failures, humiliations, triumphs, and how other people react to you, especially in early childhood. From these factors, and others, we shall discuss later, you build up a picture of yourself, which you believe is true. The image may be false, and in many cases is false, but the critical fact here is that you act just as if it were true.

According to acclaimed plastic surgeon Dr. Maxwell Maltz, if one's self-image is unhealthy or faulty, all of a person's efforts will end in failure.

In 1960 he published Psycho-Cybernetics: A New Way to Get More Living out of Life.

The book introduced Maltz's views that people must have an accurate and positive view of themselves before setting goals; otherwise, they will get stuck in a continuing pattern of limiting beliefs. The revolutionary book has been a best seller every year along with a list of companion books sharing more details to cure the inner self image scars and not just the way others see you.

Nightingale Conant, the world leading publisher of audiobooks, presents the Psycho Cybernetics library.

Discover the principles to discover your magic power.

Psycho-Cybernetics: The Magic Power of Self Image Psychology

In this book, you will find practical suggestions for improving your self-image and exercises designed to accelerate your pattern of positive change. You will set yourself the goals you long to achieve - success, happiness, friends, money, and relaxation. Whatever your dream for success, if you have reasonable goals, we will move toward them utilizing the power of mental imagery. Unlike simple positive thinking, you are not waiting for the magic to occur. You are creating magic with the power of your mind and the harnessing of your mental energies.

Great Tool for Success

I have enjoyed Dr. Maxwell Maltz’s Psych-Cybernetics Philosophy for awhile and this book really provided more insight and tools to transform Self-Image issues.

Way too simplified

for me. And a little bit paternalistic. I don't feel like it recognizes the complexities of human behavior.

Not my cup of tea

struggled to finish, not relevant to modern life, just positive thinking in another package.
