Publisher's summary

Wesley Baker is a jaded human being. Giving up on love at the ripe old age of 7, she set her sights on much more obtainable goals for her life. She worked hard and eventually found herself exactly where she wanted to be - Professor Saxton’s Introduction to Modern Psychology course, the first step to becoming a world-renowned psychologist. Getting into Brown University was the hardest thing she had ever done, and the most satisfying. And studying psychology was all she ever wanted to do.

Only...not like this. Certainly not alongside Oliver Williams and not discussing the one thing she knew did not exist - love. Why does the semester project have to be a study on such preposterous things? And why, oh why, does she have to be partnered with him? Oliver’s devil may care attitude, his sarcastic humor, and that darn British accent make Wesley wish he’d walk into traffic - until the day he accidentally does. Left to complete the project on her own, Wesley soon realizes all she’s been missing.

Will she get the chance to tell Oliver, or will her heart forever be broken and alone?

Great Contemporary Love Story

I really liked this first book in "The Projects of Life Series". The story was engaging and humorous. The characters were charming, and Oliver was very romantic. The plot had some surprising twists and turns. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Jenn Broda's narration was good, and she kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Love isn't real

Love is overrated. Oliver is a British student who is paired with Mrs. Baker for a love project. She doesn't believe in Love, she has excuses for loving your parents, siblings, and friends. But in the project Oliver is going to have her fall in love with him. This book shows why she doesn't believe in love, what it is like to deal with a parent with depression. A really good book.

Received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

Fun and Clean Rom-Com

Parents- PG13 - middle school and up due to heavier topics
Language- None
Violence- PG13 - Nothing graphic, abuse and suicide are topics
Sexual Content- nothing to warn of, just snuggles and kissing variety

This was a really fun story, yes, a bit predictable but in a good way. There are some heavier topics in this story but the author does it in such a clean and not overly detailed way that it's a good book to address the mental health/suicide issues and abuse. I loved how the story progressed and the characters fleshed out in a realistic and very believable way and I really became invested in each of their stories. Definitely recommend for a deeper and yet still very fun rom-com experience.

Narrator- 3⭐ didn't have the best differentiations, and wasn't overly fond of the attempted accent but her acting skills pretty good.

Adorable love story

Right from the start I loved this cover, how could you not?
This was a cut rom-com story of a girl , Wesley who is determined to never fall in love. However, Oliver has other plans when he picks her as a partner for their Psychology class. We follow their path as they work together in their live project and slowly Oliver melts Wesley’s cold stone heart.
Cute, with a bit of angst. Perfect length and great narration.
I will be checking out the next book in the series !

loved this story

I really liked this story. The characters were sweet, smart and funny, and all the relationships within the story were believable.
I would have loved to learn more of what happened to the characters after this story ends.
The narrator did a great job.

Hey, sweet enemies to lovers

This is a fast paced book with lots of shenanigans. It addresses hurt from abandonment.

The performance was great. I felt like the narrator matched the main character.

This is a fun listen that does deal with some heavy topics in a quirky way. Narration was done well making it an entertaining listen.

Charming!

Wesley Baker doesn't believe in love. Her parents divorced, her mother remarried and spent her time self-medicating. She told her daughter that there was no such thing as love and, without any role models, she believed it. Oliver Williams is a classmate in Modern Psychology and the two are paired in a project "to explore and record the effects of falling in love on the human brain." Wes is stunned because she knows it simply doesn't exist, but she has Oliver and he definitely believes in love. However, Oliver is not her favorite person and she actually considers him the bane of her existence. The first day of school, he shoved her down the stairs and three months later he spilled juice all over her dress. If that weren't enough he put a gummy worm down her shirt. He sounds like a boy who likes a girl and wants her attention. They make the best of frenemies who had me laughing all through the story. He teases her as time goes on that she's going to fall in love with him. How prophetic and he's the world's most understanding and caring guy. How could she not love him? Where Oliver is resolute and steady, Wes is jaded and frightened that she's going to turn out just like her mother. Watching Wes and Ollie fall in love is hilarious and sweet, but Wesley's insecurities get into her head and, just when she's going to admit that she loves him, she can't and won't do it. I have to admit that Oliver had the patience of Job, as he waited for her to come around. When Ollie has a bad accident, it becomes clear just how she feels as she waits for him to wake up from his coma. The Love Project was so very-well written and the characters were just that...characters!
The narration was beautifully done by Jenn Broda. She had just the right inflection and cadence to bring all the characters to life.
