About this listen

Rule number one for the team owner’s daughter? Don’t date the players.

Especially not hotheaded tight ends with tattoos and impulse-control problems.

That’s why Dominic Walker is completely off my radar. Sort of.

Babysitting the team troublemaker when he’s forced to volunteer for the foundation where I work means I can’t exactly avoid him.

I wish I had though. Because once I get to know Dominic, it’s almost impossible to ignore the feelings he brings out in me.

Pretty soon, I’m breaking all my rules. I just have to hope he doesn’t break my heart in the process.

Bad Male Narrator

The male narrator was completely wrong for this book. I had to skip over some of it.

From the moment Karl’s Sorensen promised me the second gen Wolves story I had no chill and the excitement was real.
Who better to kick it off than the girl who’s dad started it all? Little Faith Pierson is back and all grown up! We had broody Dominic with the bad boy rep and hello my type. I had the heart eyes before I even started reading. One minute he a guy that you wanted to smack and the next he was stealing your heart with his sweetness. This man had a chip on his shoulder the size of Washington but who better to help him get himself together than little miss sunshine? Don’t let the sunny side fool you because my girl Faith had spunk and did not give in easy. Their story had it all; humor, heart, sexual tension on high and just enough emotion to put you in your feelings.
Stella Hunter and Lance Greenfield were amazing at bringing Dominic and Faith to life in the narration.

Next gen for the Washington Wolves

We finally get the story of Turbo aka Faith whom we met as a young girl in Bombshell Effect. Now she is an adult heading up Team Sutton charity. Her meet cute with Dominic Walker was anything but cute. Dominic transfers to Washington is a bad boy grump with an attitude as a guise of his broken heart. Sunshine personality of Faith slowly chips away at Dominic. Meanwhile Dominic’s growly alpha behavior but heart of gold helps Faith’s avoidance of dating football players. Loved these two and seeing the future of the Washington Wolves next generation.

didn't love lance's narration

most of the time he just seemed to have over performed - but every once in awhile he didn't and those parts were great, relatable. Stella was awesome start to finish!

Loved this listen!

I love a sports romance as much as the next girl and this sweet read hit on some of my favorite elements in a romance – strong characters with backstories, a tragic past, chemistry galore, and some serious steam. Our hero is a little bit of an alpha-marshmallow who hides behind a gruff exterior until he realizes it’s not doing him any favors. Our heroine is protecting her heart until she realizes you don’t get what you want without taking risks. What made the story even better was fantastic narration by both Stella Hunter (who got a very emotional PM from me when I was in the climax of the book) and Lance Greenfield.

Faith has sworn off all football players as the team owner’s daughter, but when a gruff new player with a chip on his shoulder gets handed some volunteer hours to be served with the foundation she runs, she can’t seem to keep her eyes off of him. Dominic has a short fuse and many triggers, but as soon as he meets Faith, he is smitten. Asking her out is the last thing he should do. These two hit it off immediately, especially as both their walls come down, but when the truth comes out, will they be able to reconnect?

This was a fantastic read that was light with enough grit and plot elements to make it an interesting read that was hard to put down. I had both the print and audio version of the book, but honestly the narration was so good, I just wanted to listen to it. I loved the chemistry between the characters. The conflict was perfection and the way Faith laid it all out there was fantastic. I was all in my feels which is my favorite place to be and dove right into book 2, The Plan.

Worth the wait

I have been patiently waiting for another book in the Washington Wolves world and I was not disappointed. A romance about family and friendship and loss and forgiveness.

Lance Greenfield did a wonderful job. The female narrator was new to me. She was pretty good.

There’s No Crying in Football

The Lie by Karla Sorensen is funny, steamy, and has a whole lot of heart! It’s a bad boy football story with 50 yards of heart!

Dominic Walker is the NFL’s bad boy whose reputation follows him to his new home in Washington. Now he has to adapt his game to earn his place on the Wolves. Faith Pierson is riding the line between making her mark and upholding family tradition. He’s angry at the world and she’s been burned by love. When a seemingly unlikely friendship blossoms, it might be just what they each need to break out of their rut.

The Lie is You’ve Got Mail meets hot pro football romance! It is packed with humor, wit, steamy hookups and just the right amount of snark. Karla went right for the squishy underbelly with this book. I was a blubbery pile of goo for the last 25% of it. The Lie hit home for me in a few ways and I loved every minute of this audiobook! Grab the tissues, and huddle up for an emotional love story!

“Live in the tension”

Dominic Walker is going to be your new favorite Alpharoll! He barreled his way into my top five in the first chapter. Faith is sweet, kind, and fiercely devoted to her family and friends. As she struggle to find her footing in a new leadership roll, she also learns how to open her heart again after being burned by love.

Lance Greenfield and Stella Hunter are absolute perfection in the booth for this audiobook! Lance’s performance is a perfect blend of sultry growl and sweet romance. Stella Hunter gives a wonderful performance as Faith. I really enjoyed her male voice for Dominic as well. Stella’s characterization for nick was outstanding. She kept it her own while nicely complimenting how Lance worked the character in his chapters. Stella & Lance are a terrific narrating team!

A must listen!!!

I did the audiobook as a re-read… it’s so good. I loved the narration!

Faith and Dominic.... my heart.... these two are an amazing story. I love Karla Sorenson and all her books. This new generation of The Washington Wolves doesn’t disappoint. Faith is the daughter of Allie and Luke who we all love. She grown up now and leading a foundation. In walks Dominic to the Wolves football team with a history for the books. He’s such a complex guy. He judges Faith for her upbringing and she’s so annoyed by him.
But truly they have a history- Dominic realizes it first. I love the family and friendships in this book. I love the honesty, even in the lies(which never were intended to be that way).
I love how the story develops, how Faith and Dominic fall in love and how they get to happily ever after. I couldn’t put this book down! It’s a must read!!

Excellent story!

A bad decision, a chance meeting and horrible first impression has Dominic & Faith forced to work together for the team charity. As they navigate this new found friendship, they learn the other is not quite what they expected, however Dominic has a secret that threatens to ruin what they've built.
He thinks he's a terrible person and is happy to let everyone think so with the situation that got him into hot water with the team owner, but he isn't a bad guy.
I loved the slow burn of their friendship turned relationship. It worked really well in this book.
Stella Hunter and Lance Greenfield did a great job with these characters and it made the story even more enjoyable. First book by this author and it will not be my last.
