good closeout for the chase of Ajax

overall good novel, but short and could have been added to the last book. also, the author chose to skip over some crucial moments and instead they do not matter.

not as detailed as others

The battle did not have the thw amount if detail of some if his other books, and I agree that this could have been added to the previous book. Other than that, an enjoyable historical fiction.

Can't recommend

My least favorite of the series so far. Can't recommend this version. Perhaps the unabridged version is better. This one felt forced.

Near perfect

After the previous wondrous book, this shorter mission gives you what you need after the end of the previous book. Not the same narrator, but he does a fine job! I recommend jumping to this immediately after finishing the Gladiator.

This is literally only part of the book 😐

It's an abridged version missing half the content. that's why it's only 4 hours.

don't buy this they're stealing your money

This is an Abridged version

This by far has been my most disappointing audible purchase. At face value nothing about this title says it is an abridged version. It was only after I purchased the book that I noticed it was only four hours long and the more I looked into it I realized it was an abridged version.

A good read very poorly abridged

I have read this book in print version and just finished listening to the reading by Steven Pacey. The narrator is alright - he's no Jonathan Keeble (and makes Karim sound so much like Rocky Rococo that I laughed every time I heard him) but then Keeble is the best narrator in ths series and one of the best I've heard. Unfortunately, the abridgement of The Legion has all but destroyed the book. There are gaps in the story line that, even if one didn't read the book beforehand, would leave one scratching their head: Battles with endings but no real beginnings. Characters with actions that make no sense because all of the character building has been dropped from the story line. Suddenly "The Jackels" appear but who knows why they were called that. Most of the tension has been left out until this is little more than a recitation of events with a few stray details. Really, I wouldn't waste my money on the Audible version of this - it has pretty much destroyed the book. Read the print version and get the entire story.

Hardly Worth A Listen

The story is so broken that it's virtually impossible to follow events at certain points. Something is happening leading up to something big then suddenly it jumps ahead to a completely separate point. The narration is subpar and doesn't help the brokenness of the story whatsoever. Easily the worst narrator in the series is selected to read this book and "Centurion".

5 star book abridged to 1 star

Another example of poorly abridging this excellent story and turning it into a jumble of disconnected events. If I hadn't previously read the full hardcover of this book, I would have had trouble following the storyline.
