About this listen

An Amazon Charts Bestseller.

A novel of secrets, memory, family, and forgiveness by the bestselling author of When Never Comes.

Lizzy Moon never wanted Moon Girl Farm. Eight years ago, she left the land that nine generations of gifted healers had tended, determined to distance herself from the whispers about her family’s strange legacy. But when her beloved grandmother Althea dies, Lizzy must return and face the tragedy still hanging over the farm’s withered lavender fields: the unsolved murders of two young girls, and the cruel accusations that followed Althea to her grave.

Lizzy wants nothing more than to sell the farm and return to her life in New York, until she discovers a journal Althea left for her - a Book of Remembrances meant to help Lizzy embrace her own special gifts. When she reconnects with Andrew Greyson, one of the few in town who believed in Althea’s innocence, she resolves to clear her grandmother’s name.

But to do so, she’ll have to decide if she can accept her legacy and whether to follow in the footsteps of all the Moon women who came before her.

Loved the story & messages

I loved the story and messages in a grandmother’s wisdom. The performance was weak for me. The narrator tried but many character voices sounded the same. It was sometimes difficult to decertify between them. But overall it is till worth a listen.

Loved the story - not fond of the narration!

I really enjoyed the story.
It had a little bit of magic, murders, family drama and love.
The narration let this book down.
I sped up the speed to get rid of the throaty whispery weird voice.

Very touching story

Story was well written and very touching. The person reading the book was a tad distracting. But I really enjoyed the story so I pushed past that.

Disappointing

The story was uninspired, essentially a Nora Roberts retread. The characters were one dimensional and the plot predictable. I was ready to switch to a different book after the first hour, but my wife wanted to stay the course and see if it improved. It was just good enough to make us finish. Just barely.

Great Book

I didn't care for the narrator in the beginning because I felt as if I would fall asleep. Ad I became familiar to the character it was a perfect fit. I honestly loved this book. It was magical in every element and kept you guessing. My favorite line was in the epilogue when she tells her daughter that she is not brought into this world to do magic, but she is magic! I have always said this to my daughter!

Couldn’t Stop Listening

What a wonderful story and so well narrated. Lizzie returns home after the death of her grandmother and stirs up the small town as she tries to clear her grandmother’s name. The Moon girls have always been thought of as having mystical powers so when two teenage girls are found in the farm’s pond, Althea becomes a suspect and her life and the lives of her daughter and granddaughter begins to unravel. Part mystery, part love story. Very enjoyable.
