About this listen

Miss Olivia Dunne was the darling of society, until a thwarted abduction and elopement scheme by an unscrupulous man left her reputation in tatters. But having moved from paragon to pariah, Olivia realizes that there is no reason for her to continue abiding by society’s mandates. In fact, she decides to embrace her scandalous nature and do the very thing she’s been accused of...take a lover. The man she’s chosen is one she’s secretly loved for years, but she’ll need to employ the aid of an unlikely ally to carry it off.

Lord Burke, Viscount Holland, has loved Olivia for years. He even offered for her once, only to be summarily dismissed by her older brother, his oldest friend. With his pride still stinging, Burke is confronted with the horrible truth that Olivia had never rejected him at all. Her brother never told her of Burke’s interest in her. But if he tells her now, she’ll take it for pity and reject him out of hand. The only way to make her his wife is to first accept her offer to be his mistress. But not everyone wishes to see the couple achieve a happy ending. Some will do whatever it takes to keep them apart. Can true love prevail or will pride and greed conspire to keep them apart forever?

A Bit Too Steamy

This is the first in the Dunne Family series. The writing is beautiful with well-developed characters. I enjoyed the story but overall it is a bit too steamy for my taste. I prefer a few less descriptions and more emotions. If you like your books steamy I believe you’ll enjoy this one.
The narrators flowed seamlessly throughout the story.

Great Series Starter!

Miss Olivia Dunne and Lord Burke, Viscount Holland have loved each other from the time they first met when she was a very young miss, but neither made this known to the other.
I loved the sassiness of Olivia and the level headedness of Burke. This was a great mix and the traits play well together.
I enjoyed the story very much with its romance, a bit of heat and a mystery which needed solving.
Then we have the really entertaining narration by Lillian Yves and Vincent Lee Grayson.
This is a fabulous story and audio and it should not be missed!

Lovely, Just lovely

I never get tired of listening to Chastity Bowlin’s books. They always have a great story line and end up being so sweet. There was a nod to one of her other books in this one as well which was fun.

The narrating duo is just phenomenal and bring all the characters to life effortlessly.

Unexpectedly good!

This story blown me way. A appropriate balance between short and fast and taking time to introduce the characters and the plot. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and narrators gave the story the proper accents.

PS I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Hero Of Her Heart

Olivia Dunne, scandalized through no fault of her own, insists she can no longer marry the man of her dreams. Viscount Holland, however, is not quite so noble. Her insistence causes her more problems which may just soften her heart. The narration was excellent both voices were varied and well performed.

Story was ok, but narration was cringe worthy

I really like Chasity Bowlin and usually enjoy listening to her books, but this one is a hard go. I seem to be in the small minority, but the narration on this book is creepy and like fingernails on a blackboard.

The male narrator, regardless if which character, sounds like what every female imagines every creepy predator would sounds like. It's skin crawlingly uncomfortable.

The female narrator is not as bad, and alone she might be ok, but she voiced female lead with more of a little girl's voice than a grown woman who'd survived what she had.

I believe I might enjoy the book if I read it, but on Audible.. no, just no. I didn't use a credit for the book so I can't return it for a refund so this is dollars and 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

Delightful Regency Romance!

When a thwarted abduction results in her reputation being irrevocably ruined, Miss Olivia Dunne hatches a scandalous plan to avoid becoming a burden on her brother. The Last Offer is a delightfully entertaining story, very well written with engaging characters, a bit of intrigue, and the perfect amount of sweet, delightful heat! The narration is truly delightful! Wonderfully accented, emotional and heartfelt, every word, every syllable, every line clear and concise, with no having to back up and repeat because I couldn’t quite catch it! I just love it when I can close my eyes and see the story, feel the story, experience the story, and that is exactly what I was able to do! I throughly enjoyed every single moment! Five stars!

I loved it and recommend it

I admired Olivia's strength to rise above the falsehoods and to take her future into her own hands and not be a victim of the ton and gossips. The rude evil greed of people that tried to ruin Olivia all for money made me furious. Burke was beyond gallant and chivalrous. He was the perfect friend , lover, partner , and savior
The surprise at the end was endearing. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrators did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Short and sweet... with a bit of spice

So Burke isn't really Olivia's brother's best friend.... but he was at one point. And then they had a falling out over Burke's feelings for Olivia. It was thought that he might only want her for her money. Olivia goes through some craziness.... she is kidnapped so that the man can force her into marriage .... anyway.... because she had been alone with the man that kidnapped her.... she is ruined in society and decides she wants to take on a lover.... and she wants it to be Burke. He still wants to marry her. So he takes what she is offering, with the hope of turning it into more. It was pretty short and I got through it in one day.

Not your Mama’s historical romance

I absolutely loved this story. I loved that the heroine did not allow her circumstances to be decided by society and chose instead to walk her own path.
