About this listen

Angus Gregory is 14 years old when he moves to Fairhope, Wisconsin, with his family. The first thing to strike him, when he moves to the small town, are the Missing posters of the boy from the college. The second thing is the lady on the rooftops.

Only Angus can see her - but she's there - dressed in a black cloak, her eyes focused straight ahead as she walks hurriedly across the rooftops of the buildings downtown.

Angus thinks he might go mad, holding this secret, knowing that she's there but realizing that no one else can see her. But then one day, when he's on a camping trip with some boys from his school, as they sit around the campfire telling ghost stories, another boy reveals that he's also been seeing the lady on the rooftops.

Together, the two of them team up to find out who she was, why she's there and what she's so desperately searching for as she rises up from her plot - crosses the graveyard and walks back and forth across the downtown buildings before coming back to her resting place and falling headfirst, back into the ground.

Sublime

Would you consider the audio edition of The Lady on the Rooftops to be better than the print version?

I did not read the printed version.

What does Kevin Iggens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The interpretation of every character. He adds “personality” to each one.

Any additional comments?

I found this book interesting. It has a good and eas to follow story. Kept my interest all the way through. I received this book free for my honest opinion.

Not Necessarily Worth It

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this whole read until it started to wind down and I realized that I wasn't going to get any kind of explanation for the bizarre happenings in the story. I love a story with some weird stuff going on - like a witch that walks purposefully across roof tops that can only be seen by some - but I sort of require that kind of content to be wrapped up in some way. It's only satisfying if there is some morsel of information that can at least allow me to take some leap to some conclusion about what was going on. In my world, even if the story was interesting until close to the end, if the end is a total failure (which, this one was) than the book wasn't worth reading. I can't recommend a story with no ending to any of my friends! I did enjoy the narration, though.

Great story but...

I loved this story. I enjoyed every second of it until... the ending. I just didn't like the ending. Maybe you will, but it just felt like some of the story was left out.

Surprisingly great read!

Would you listen to The Lady on the Rooftops again? Why?

I received this book for free as a trade for an honest review. Yes I would read this book again! At the beginning and was unsure, but this book turned out to be a creepy book that I will definitely read more than once.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Iggens – was your favorite?

My favorite character is angus Gregory. I feel for him being a kid who had to move away from what was familiar to him and go along with his mom to a town that had strict rules and scares.?

Who was the most memorable character of The Lady on the Rooftops and why?

I'd have to say angus again. His story left a mark as the changes he faced.

Any additional comments?

This was a great read! The narrator performed wonderfully in my opinion!!

I can see this as a series and as a movie

An excellent Young Adult horror/thriller story.

14 year old Angus Gregory moves to a new town with his parents and teenage sister. Shortly thereafter, he begins seeing a strange, incorporeal woman in the local graveyard and staring down from the tops of buildings.

That's troubling enough for a young man in a new town, but as the story progresses we come to learn that he is far from the only person to witness strange happenings in Fairhope, Wisconsin.

The narration was superb and the storyline was compelling.

I only wish that more of the mysteries had been solved or explained. I'm hoping that will happen in future books.

Recommended for those who like tales of ghosts and mysterious happenings.

Don't look at the rooftops

I did enjoy listening to this short horror book but felt it would be best that a family listen at Halloween time as does not contain gore or guts. It is about Angus a 14 yr old boy who sees a witch like lady 1st on the rooftops then other places find out a friend also sees her, then the whole family starts to experience paranormal activity. Highly recommend to teenagers who enjoy supernatural mysteries. I was given this book at my request and voluntarily left this review
