About this listen

An ancient family diary. A timely prophecy. An epic conclusion.

As Sylvia prepares to meet Gabe’s parents for the first time, the last thing she needs is for her long-lost father to cause trouble. While his answers to her questions finally bring clarity, they also usher in danger.

But that's not all her elusive father brings into Sylvia's life. His treasured gift of an ancient journal passed down through the generations, connects her to the past with its mystical spells and captivating stories. Yet it’s the cryptic prophecy written on magical pages that capture Sylvia’s attention, hinting at a destiny entwined with Gabe’s. Does it relate to the threat of abduction that has dogged him for months?

The world’s fascination with his miraculous survival has drawn unwanted attention, leading to desperate attempts to unravel the secrets behind his extraordinary abilities. When these efforts fail, his enemies resort to drastic measures, targeting Sylvia to lure Gabe into their clutches.

Despite her caution, Sylvia realizes she may have inadvertently placed Gabe in danger. Has his luck finally run out?

Only time will reveal the truth.

I wish them 1000 more years

Beautifully narrated, as always. I was incredibly irritated with Sylvia for most of the book. She did a lot of whining and assuming. The surprise at the end was wholly unexpected and much appreciated.

Great magical series

It was different pace on magical community, in early 1900's I enjoyed this better than the prequel. Ash and Steal.

It draws to a close

I enjoyed these books, both sets, this book being my least favorite. It was still a fun ride. Spoilers: I was looking forward to hearing about Sylvia and Gabe’s relationship, but this final book lacks that. It’s very disappointing. The book also has far too much angst. I felt like I was reading about a middle-school girl making very poor decisions most of the time. Sylvia didn’t learn throughout the books. She kept making the same mistakes over and over. Those mistakes could’ve gotten people killed. I prefer characters that learn and grow. I also like happy endings that aren’t rushed. And I definitely could’ve done without Willie.

I like the characters, the reader, the storylines, everything. If you haven’t read the other Glass series, definitely do. It all ties together.
