Summary

How much can you cover in an hour and 33 minutes? Not much. This book makes a good faith effort to summarize lots of information in a short amount of time. Having an outline of the history was helpful before my trip because it gave me a general picture. I was able to color in some of the details when I got there. The discussion of the diversity of people and ecosystems also set me up for good conversations with the locals.

If you take one thing from this book, it should be the commentary about the food. Costa Rica is not known for its food, but the fruit is delicious. Enjoy your trip and continue your learning with longer books! (This book is well narrated.)
