About this listen

Amid the sweet sounds of a music box, their darkest fears will haunt them.... In Black River, Tennessee, everyone knows the legend of the Bell Witch...and the alleged curse that hangs like a dark shroud over the town. To some, it is just a local tall tale. But to others, it is terrifyingly real.

For centuries, four families have been forced into the ritualistic tradition of sacrifice and terror. Every year, a member of each family stumbles upon an antique music box they need to lock before the time is up. And a horrible fate awaits them once the boxes open.

Trapped in the witch’s sadistic game, the families’ young offspring are forced to journey into the dark and twisted woods of Black River in search for the keys to their salvation. But as they search for a way to end the curse, a haunting melody echoes through the trees. And each lost soul must wonder....

Will they survive the night? Or will the Bell Witch’s bloody harvest claim more victims?

A must read/listen

I read this when it first came out and absolutely loved the story and the characters. Now that it is out on audiobook I get to love it while multitasking! I just finished listening to it, the narrator did a fantastic job. If you like a bit of mystery/suspense tied in with ghosts and demons this is the book for you. I wouldn’t say it is scary but it gets you thinking about which of your fears the undead would send after you in the witch woods!

Would definitely recommend, I’ve read the three books that are currently out in the series and will say, you won’t want to stop with the first book. Can’t wait for the next in the series to come out on audiobook!

Haunting

I did enjoy listening to this rather than reading due to good narration and the characters even though it took a while to get into the last 1/3 was great. It is always upsetting when children are taken and their torment. Look forward to next book to find out what goes on with Basheba, Buck, Cadwyn, Mina, and Ozzie . Is Katrina coming back for the next harvest? Keep writing!

Love the Bell With Series

the whole series of books in the bell witch series are awesome. I like how each person has their own strengths and the way they become a team and work together! Sara Clancy is a writer that is now one of my favorites. Bringing to life the characters and settings. I was afraid to walk through the apple orchard that apples don't hand from the trees. You will love the kids and hate their familys, but when all is said and done, you will lose out if you don't read this series.

Good start to new series

The age mix of main characters (16 thru 30) makes this new series more interesting. Love how Clancy intros each character in the early chapters. She unveils the bizarre annual family event beautifully over the first half of the book. 1st chapter was really fun and creepy.
The narrator was excellent. He had to juggle a ton of voices, accents and changing POVs.
Looking forward to the 2nd book! Want to know more about Basheba!

Beware the Witch

Everyone knows the legend of the Bell Witch - but for some, it is more than legend.

As family members struggle to find the key to keep the curse from coming forward, each fails in turn, and time is running out before something worse is released.

What a read, I was not sure what to expect, but I was sure surprised. Look forward to seeing what the rest of this series has to offer.
