Forget The Gym

I've been looking for a complete home exercise calisthenic routine since COVID has hit, and recently came across The Gym-Less Workout. I was skeptical for how an audiobook might transition to this medium, but it was perfect. The content spans a wide variety of muscle groups to target, and each section provides simple, succinct, and easy to understand instructions for how to perform each exercise.

The audio format is well suited to content as you can put your headphones in, and practice as you listen. Instead of needing to return to a book or certain page to read, then back to your exercise, you can remain in position and flow through the workout without interruption. The narrator has a clear, distinct, and easy to understand voice/cadence, and each section is easy to backtrack/rewind to get further content. For anyone looking for a solid at home workout audiobook, I would highly recommend this title!

Great Advice on Working Out without the Gym

This audiobook is perfect for the current situation. What I like the most, is that these exercises can be done nearly everywhere and you don't need any fancy equipment. Bodyweight training is so underrated and can be used to lose weight and gain muscles. Now there are no more excuses why somebody can't do sports. Also stretching is important, what is also explained well. I can really recommend this audiobook.

Good primer, especially during lockdown

What do you do when the gyms all close and you can't pump iron?
YOu gotta figure out how to work out at home.
I've been looking and buying a LOT of these types of books.
This one is good and has very good foundational knowledge.
It's not so advanced that you won't be able to follow along, but it's also not so basic that the more intermediate and advanced gym rats won't be able to benefit.

Simple and easy to implement

I really appreciate that this book has been written with your a busy schedule in mind. It's a great book for the entrepreneur always on the go, the full time individual, a student, or stay at home parents. Whatever you might be struggling with when it comes to time, this book will inspire you to find the time you need to just stop and exercise. It's also a great book for the beginner who is just starting their fitness journey and needs a bit of guidance on what to do and how to do them. This book is exactly what it claims to be - exercising without going to the gym while providing actionable steps that are very clear and easy to understand.

Save your money and still get ripped.

Great workout ideas that’ll save you hundreds of dollars in gym fees. Why spend money on a gym membership, when you can get similar results from working out at home or on your own? This audiobook opened my eyes as to the possibilities of working out on my own. It’s a timely resource, especially with a global pandemic affecting social interactions.

Perfect book to be fit even if you can't go to gym

This book is very helpful, especially for people like me, who always overthink and have massive social anxiety. After listening to this book, I feel hopeful, and now I have some work to do with myself after knowing and understanding the root cause of my problems. I am a person who likes to train, but at the same time, I am very social too. I never did it at home before this pandemic. But sometimes you have to go against your way, so I started training at home. I picked this book because I want to know more about home workouts or, as the author says, GYM-less workouts. Honestly, I gather a lot of information regarding Calisthenics' training and some information and ideas I never knew before even though I have been working out for a long time. The good thing is author refers to use some of the basic equipment like pull-up bar and all, but also he came up with various alternatives like basic home furniture you can use for your training which is very helpful in my opinion because most of the people may not be able to get that equipment, but an alternative solution to that is great. Overall it's a really helpful book, and definitely, if you follow this book, no one can hold you back to achieve your goal with your physique even if you can't go to the gym. I would definitely recommend this book.

Great listen

I loved this book. Its fantastic especially in the current climate where you cannot get to a Gymnasium. Its wonderfully written and narrated and I really found I lost myself in the book. I am an avid fitness buff, but I still discovered some great tips and techniques in this book. I have been putting into practise some of the great things I have learned. I especially loved the chapter on all the stretches you will ever need to know, it was brilliant. I can see you have another book too, so I will certainly be getting hold of that one.
