The Growler Chronicles: The First Three Books

The first three phases to a zombie apocalypse: Run, Hide, Fight.

Billy was there when it all began—when the first victim coughed over their lunch, setting off a chain reaction that would plunge the world into chaos. Amanda, an E.R. nurse, fought to save lives as the hospital became ground zero. Samantha, driven by a need for justice, was about to confront the cult responsible for the outbreak. Meanwhile, Professor Preston, head of the CDC, struggled to rally science against an unstoppable tide, only to find himself awaiting execution in a desolate junkyard.

They call them "growlers" because that’s what these creatures do—mindless, relentless, and terrifyingly organized.

As the survivors run, hide, and fight, they come to realize that the real enemy isn’t just the growlers, but the forces that unleashed them. The government's desperate attempts to contain the outbreak—nukes, tanks, Marines—only made things worse. Now, the growlers are radioactive and wear body armor, and as the pathogen continues to spread, the world teeters on the brink of total collapse.

The Growler Chronicles is just beginning. This box set includes the first three books in this epic series that will take you deeper into the apocalypse than you ever imagined. As the survivors face unimaginable horrors and uncover dark secrets, the stakes continue to rise. Will humanity survive the horde, or will the growlers become the artifacts of our existence?

The fight for survival is far from over. Join the battle today and prepare for what’s coming next.

Growler Chronicles 1-3

I was pleasantly surprised by this series. The story was good and the characters were as well. It starts a bit slow but if you stick with it, I think you’ll really enjoy it. And the virtual voice isn’t horrible…there are mispronounced words but you still get the gist of it.
Overall a decent read/listen.

Disappointing

Well, Ai narration sucks. I normally skip past anything that has ai narration but wanted something to listen to in a hurry. Not only did it have all the weird pronunciations and strange cadences you get with Ai but there was also a high pitched dog whistle like sound through out what I managed to listen to. It is a shame because the story seemed like it was well written and going to be pretty good. Please stop using Ai it’s unlistenable.

Leave political crap out of my entertainment.

The AI wasn’t terrible. It lacked proper intonations relative to what was being said and mispronounced a lot of words. But it wasn’t terrible. The story seems to be written for a younger audience. But that’s ok. It’s no Mark Tufo (one of the greats in this genre), but I actually liked some of the characters and cared about what happened to them. Then the author had to start bashing republicans. I’m not a republican. I’m a right leaning independent (with liberal leanings socially). But jeeeezus, leave your petty insults for one side or the other out of my entertainment. I get that crap everywhere else. When I dive into a book, I’m trying to escape “everything else.” I’ve never understood why entertainers would alienate half their fans/customers unnecessarily. It ruined the rest of the book for me and I couldn’t finish it. The book was in the Access Catalog so I didn’t lose money. I guess you get what you pay for.

Dont use headphones

This starts off interesting but quickly goes off the rails. Becoming this weird anti right yet at the same time anti left mess. One set of characters are used to make fun of the stereotypical right while another is to make fun of the stereotypical left. It is weird. Distracts heavily and breaks any immersion the story starts to build when suddenly you are slapped in the face with an over the top anti side scene. It also tried to be scientific but it is obvious that the author has no inowledge and is going off things they pulled from google.
The digital voice is awful. It has no idea how to pronounce any firearm name, vehicle name, half the city names are said wrong. It obviously skips words and at times amusingly states "periiod used here" "exclimation point" which breaks the flow. There is also a screeching whistle constantly going off. A sharp piercing so do not use headphones.

Poorly written liberal propaganda trash

Couldn't make it halfway through this trash. The author spends more time spouting their hatred of conservatives and conservative values than trying to tell a cohesive story.
They did absolutely no research into the subject matter. Dirty harry did not carry a 45 magnum and glocks don't have manual safeties. sealed freeze dried food doesn't just magically attract maggots. not even going get into how they think viruses and radiation work.
