Great Trilogy!

This is a great trilogy. Too bad there aren't more. Narrator not the best. Pretty Funny actually. Most of the voices were the same 2 or 3.

The excitement continues!

This book was excellent. It includes several battles, full of action and turmoil. It is a great step toward a conclusion.... however, it does not conclude the story, so I only gave it 4 stars. After some research, I have discovered that at least 2 more stories are planned, but are not necessarily continuously tied to this initial trilogy. This trilogy is being called "America in Flames." The other books coming out (according to Amazon - and these aren't audiobooks yet, either) are The Texas Front (December 2018), and Europe Ablaze (March 2019). Despite the fact that the story has not yet ended, I rather enjoyed this trilogy and do recommend it. Ray Greenley does an excellent job at narration, and I think Scott Washburn is a pretty enticing author. If you've listened to the first 2 books, you'll love this one. I recommend this series with some caution - it may not end, but at least the ride is a good one.

Still fun

I have to admit that this series has been a guilty pleasure of mine. The story itself is nothing extraordinary but it is still a lot of fun. This entry in the series is definitely worth a read, some of the worst problems of earlier entries are less apparent as we see fewer historical characters showing up and derailing the story with unnatural dialogue. Again the highlight of the book are the portions giving the Martian perspective of events.

Nice Ending to Interesting What-if? Historical Fic

Greenley does a great job narrating Washburn's wrap-up of The Great Martian War trilogy...(spoiler: or is it?) It was great to spend time with some well-developed characters and see how they end up in the next stage of the Martian war saga. As I was listening to this book on my daily commute, I could almost see the giant tanks and war machines the military cooked up in this book to fight the Martians. One day, I was so lost in the book I slowly rolled through a stop sign...and got pulled over (whoops.)

Overall, a solid conclusion to what I'll call a "what-if"/Sci-Fi/Historical fiction/War novel. Thanks for the great read/listen!

Counter Attack Review

The storyline and characters development was great. The battles were excellent. It‘s description was fantastic. We’re pushing back the margins and soon the United States and North America shall be liberated. Then on to South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. We are going to win because of the ironclad and the division growing between the earthborn Martians and the ones on Mars. It was great seeing many historical characters contributing to the story. I’m looking for to see what other characters will appear in the next books. It will be interesting to see what others changes are in for them. Onward to victory.

A refreshing departure from the typical alien invasion theme

Most alien invasion movies, books, and TV shows involve a completely insurmountable opponent that can only be defeated by the hero or a single McGuffin. Conventional weapons are completely ineffective, and nothing works.

This series is not that. It depicts a conventional war between two opponents slugging it out in a war of attrition. Its got all the right details such as logistics, maintaining supply lines, production, the perpetual rapidly developing arms race during a war, and significant amounts of combat. My only complaint is that the books aren’t longer, and that there are only five books in the series so far. I think anyone who enjoys a significant amount of realism added into science fiction will enjoy this book greatly.
