Publisher's summary

The BRAND NEW sensational, edge of your seat psychological thriller from bestselling author Gemma Rogers

Appearances can be deceiving...

After a whirlwind romance and three years of marriage, I’d tried to be a good wife.

But Tom, my husband, is always watching, controlling my every move. He chooses my clothes, my hairstyle, even instructing what and how much I’m allowed to eat – just ten measly mouthfuls.

I’ve become isolated from those I love, forbidden to work and stuck at home to fulfil his every whim.

My identity along with my life is long gone.

I am slowly suffocating but I know Tom will never, ever let me leave alive.

A chance encounter with Savannah changes everything. Tom couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. Could she be my saviour?

Could my husband’s desire for another woman be the answer to my prayers, to my freedom?

Bestseller Gemma Rogers is back with another gripping, thriller. Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty, Shari Lapena and Lisa Jewell.

lots of twists and turns with a surprise ending

the volume of the recording was very inconsistent. Loud voice was followed by a barely audible voice.

Wraps you up and only releases you at the last word!

Intricate story, tumbling along as it grabs each character into a great ball of deceit. Velvet-voiced narrator!

It was good, but it could’ve been great.

The performance, and it was a performance, was everything. The characters were so over the top, it made the book better. Also, (and it probably wasn’t intentional) it made me laugh. Tom is just rude. He’s mean and horrible, and always rude! That Mr Snooty voice made him funny. He’s the worst character I’ve run into lately, and I hated him. I just get really invested in storylines, and I hated him, but I’d have been seething more if his voice had been sinister to match his character.
The thing about this book is that it’s so good you don’t want to put it down. But you want something to happen. So you wait, and it’s slow. Then it’s 30 minutes before it’s finished and things happen. But it’s too late. Even what happens isn’t that shocking. And the end is just left there. She could’ve done a better job, and edited the every day things, and not rushed the ending. It needed a good twist. But it’s entertaining, so I’m glad I read it.

Chloe’s stupidity

The book wasn’t a bad read however, Chloe got on my mf’g nerves! Savannah was even worse. The only lady in this book with some balls was Anita. I couldn’t stand the sniveling from Chloe. A lot of the circumstances she found herself in were unrealistic. You’re really going to go back home unarmed and drunk to a man you heard say he was going to kill you? I can look over everything thing else but that. I see what the author was up too but there were just too many unbelievable scenarios for me. After Chloe heard of Tom’s plans for killing her, I only finished this book just to see how it would turn out.

Excellent

The story was scary realizing that many women have faced husbands that are monsters! Well written and suspenseful.
