About this listen
The deal seems easy. Follow the rules. Keep your mouth shut. The payoff? Enough money to change your life forever.
Nicole, Dylan, Jilly, and Tana need to take the deal. All for different, equally desperate reasons. But the deal comes at a price. Once they step into Madame Moirai’s depraved world it's too late. All four come face-to-face with the darkest depths of humanity lurking beneath the glitter of extreme wealth and elite privilege. Under lock and key by guards, surrounded by those under Madame Moirai's thumb, they are bound by soul-searing trauma and linked by tragedy. If they're going to survive, they must work together at all costs. There is no in-between—and the clock is ticking.
Note: This is book one of three in a dark, twisted psychological suspense series.

UrbanMyth: It was lauded as an alternative to the performative, show-your-best-self platforms—an anonymous discussion board grouped by zip code. The residents of Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side disclosed it all, things they would never share with their friends or their spouses: secret bank accounts, steamy affairs, tidbits of juicy gossip. So when a “hacktivist” group breaks into the forum and exposes the real identity of each poster, the repercussions echo down Park Avenue with a force that none could have anticipated.

Suspenseful!
This was my first J.H. Leigh's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in The Auction Trilogy. This story is heart wrenching, intense, and suspenseful. My heart broke for Nicole, Tana, Dylan and Jilly. It is not for the faint of heart, and contains graphic scenes. Looking forward to listening to the next book in the series to know what happens next. Excellent narration from Sarah Puckett. #FiresideAudio

Thrilling and GRIPPING—a MUST-READ!!
TLDR:
Hooked from the prologue—WHOA, that was intense! It didn’t really get any less intense from there—and it was mostly well done.
“I’ve since learned that all the monsters [in the world] are human.”
—Nicole. [And … HOW TRUE.]
If you want ALL my thoughts:
This is a dark-ish read, with dark themes and, though it isn’t shown, SA and other forms of ãbüs3. I feel that it was mostly well done: great writing, good characters, good world-building. The ‘business’ side of things was well-covered as far as motivations, executions, accuracy for depicting the sort of patrons and employees, etc.
Nicole, the female lead was strong and well-designed. She definitely sounded much older than the 17/18 year-old she is, however this fits, since she’s in a situation where she would’ve had to grow up first and demonstrate lots of hyper-independence. At times, I questioned some of her vocabulary, but I do ultimately find it all plausible. She has dreams and aspirations that involve being well-educated. She’s also got ‘street smarts’ and isn’t gullible—it all works well together.
I also feel like the author did a good job of depicting children who come from different backgrounds, the difference between loving homes and non-loving homes, their different opportunities, portraying poverty, etc.
Just a few of the themes/tropes you’ll find here:
‘Hostile’ vibes.
Trafficking.
Neglected kids.
R*pe, múrd3r, violence, etc.
Sales of v!rg!ns as soon as they turn 18.
Young adults, on the run / in danger.
Billionaires (with sick fetishes).
4.5 stars.
“You never truly knew what you could do … until they forced you to do it in order to survive.”
—Nicole.

Amazing, Sarah’s one of my favorite narrators and the overall sound quality was absolutely perfect. 🦩

Gripping and Intense
This story is dark, gripping and intense. The storyline was so well written, I absolutely devoured this book. The story is so twisted, I can't wait to see what will happen next. Sarah Puckett did an outstanding job bringing these characters to life. I just love her voice, she is a master at bringing out the emotions of each character.

Shocking, Thrilling and a Darker Side
Wow! Did I love this! I can see what all the hype is about! Definitely not something I read about every day. The author did it with class not crass which elevates this higher in my opinion. I cant wait to see what happens next!
I did listen to this on audio. Sarah Puckett is the narrator and she did outstandingly well. The voices and the accents are all well done.
I will be recommending this to others!

4.5 Stars - Excellent Audiobook!
This is the first book I've read/listened to by JH Leigh. The author is an excellent writer! The storyline gave me chills. The characters were complicated. Nicole seems to be the main character for this series, I think. My mind is whirling. I was glued to the storyline and it ended all too soon. That's my only complaint. I cannot wait for the next book to find out what will happen next!
Sarah Puckett is an excellent narrator. A favorite of mine. She has a great voice and her performance is always emotional. Perfection.
