About this listen
How do you move on when the whole world is obsessed with your breakup?
Ten years ago, Holly Hart’s ex-boyfriend, Elliot Sinclair, turned their relationship into a bestselling novel that transformed her quiet English village into a bustling tourist hotspot. Worse, the book’s fame came with a fictionalized version of their story—and zero credit for Holly’s role in helping him write it.
Now, every holiday season, Holly can’t escape the reminders of her past, with visitors flocking to her town and asking if she’s “the girl from the story.”
When Holly lands her first big ghostwriting job—a Christmas romance—she seizes the chance to reclaim her narrative and take a jab at Elliot. But her plans go awry when Elliot unexpectedly returns to town, charming as ever and working on a mysterious new book of his own.
As Holly navigates forced proximity with the man who broke her heart, she begins to unravel secrets about their past that don’t quite add up. With timelines shifting between their whirlwind romance and their icy reunion, Holly starts to wonder: did she ever truly know Elliot?
Perfect for fans of second-chance romance. The Ghostwriter of Christmas Past is a love story about facing the past, embracing the present, and discovering the magic of love all over again.

Story
I wasn't looking to change my "bad boy of baseball" reputation. At least not until my dream girl, Pop Princess Alexis Bodega, stepped foot in my clubhouse to sing for the stadium on opening day. There's just one problem, and it's a big one. Her manager is also her boyfriend, and her father is her agent. She's kept on a tight leash with her incredibly busy schedule, and I'm at the start of a new baseball season with a new team. It's the worst time to explore this attraction with the wrong girl, but that doesn't stop me from fighting my way backstage at her surprise performance in Vegas.

Story
A sexy cinnamon-roll lumberjack offers me a ride into town, a stay at his cozy cabin, and eventually his bed. All things I can't refuse. After several flirty glances and heated mistletoe kisses, we create rules: no strings attached and no falling in love. Agreeing to the impossible might be my biggest mistake yet. I visited the small town for one reason only: to prove a point to my father. Now I've got a fake boyfriend.

Beau Slater sure brings the fireworks. Too bad they’re not the good kind. My brother’s best friend was so smoking hot, he blew up our small-town graduation night with one humiliating almost-kiss. It took me five years, one potential dream job, and three thousand miles to diffuse that horrifying memory. So when my worst enemy and I are forced together by our meddling mothers for a first-ever Christmas in July, I can’t risk Beau reigniting my heart. Which means I’m probably supremely stupid to enlist him in my plot to teach our manipulative families a lesson.

Story
I kept smiling when I caught my fiancé coming down my sister’s chimney on Christmas Eve. I gave polite congratulations when they got engaged. And I even offered to help decorate for their Christmas wedding despite the fact that was supposed to be my dream wedding. But when my sister cuts up my great-grandmother’s one-hundred-year-old wedding dress and turns it into a skank show, even though that was the dress I was going to wear on my wedding day? Well, this elf is torching down the North Pole.

Holly
Holly is a ghostwriter, however she dreams of publishing her own books. Holly lives in Bramblebury, home of over the top Christmas spirit. Years before her ex’s novel was a smashing hit (The Snow Globe) which put Bramblebury on the map. However, her ex’s book is about Holly, and does not really tell things as they were (leaving some hurt feelings here). Holly’s agent lets her know she was requested to be a ghostwriter for a novel. This is her chance! Suddenly, the ex is back in town, at Christmas!
Overall this is a cute and sweet story. It was well written. I was able to envision the people and events as the story unfolds. I found myself cheering for Holly, to finally get her chance! Some of the people are real characters! I bet they would be a blast to work with. The narrator did a good job, voice enhancing the story. Sweet do over
Not only was the story a warm Christmas themed love story, it was narrated with emotion and feeling. As a listener I was drawn into Holly and Elliot’s missed opportunities to “get it right” and eventual happy ending. Well done!!.

The custest ghost...writer of Christmas...
4.5* - Rounded up to 5...
This was a super sweet book! Laura Greaves does an amazing job bringing the characters to life, and really pulling you into the story.
Holly as a grinch hit a bit close to home with me this year. lol... But I loved Elliot's character, and his gestures over the years were SOOOOO sweet! SO many fun scenes as well...
And the heart-wrenching scenes certainly hit a bit hard as well...
A really great and fun listen (or read)...

The Ghostwriter of Christmas Past!
This is a good story about Elliot and Holly, who once dated. Holly, lives in the town of Bramblebury, and is a bit of a scrooge, especially after Elliot. They dated, who wrote and book, which became a movie and never looked back. The problem is the book was about them. Now years later she thinks she seems him. then gets an opportunity to be a ghost writer and maybe get a dash of revenge in the process. This is a good story that I really enjoyed, especially how it developed.

Holly Hart
Overall Story: 🌟🌟🌟🌟½ (4.5/5)
Narration: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (5/5)
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️ (Just the right amount of sweetness and tension. Think stolen kisses under the mistletoe rather than full-on fire.)
Holly Hart is a ghostwriter with big dreams, but she’s stuck in a Christmas-obsessed town and haunted by her ex-boyfriend Elliot’s bestselling novel, which twisted their love story. When given the chance to ghostwrite a Christmas romance, Holly decides to settle the score by telling her version of the story. But with Elliot back in town and a blizzard of emotions brewing, Holly must decide whether to cling to the past or embrace the possibility of a new chapter.
This book gave me cozy Hallmark movie vibes with a twist. Holly Hart, the ultimate Christmas grinch with a relatable chip on her shoulder, is stuck in a town that breathes holiday cheer and obsesses over her ex-boyfriend, Elliot. The premise had me intrigued: revenge via a ghostwritten Christmas romance? Sign me up!
Laura Greaves’ narration pulled me in immediately. She captured Holly’s snarky wit and vulnerability perfectly while nailing the charm and tension between the characters. Her voice gave the story extra warmth and humour, which made it even more enjoyable.
Would I Recommend This Book?
Absolutely! If you love second-chance romances with small-town charm, a dash of festive chaos, and a slow-burn romance that tugs at your heartstrings, this book is for you. It’s perfect for curling up with hot cocoa on a chilly evening.

Second chance at Christmas
This is the perfect second chance romance I have ever read. I was not sure how I would like when the chapters go back and forth between past and present, however the way this story is written, I could not see it any other way. I characters are so well written that they took on a life of their own and made the story all that more enjoyable. The happy ever after felt like a gift for both the main character and the reader.
