About this listen

As we know, Watson, the law is not always justice. So, on this occasion, justice cannot be the law.

Presented within this volume are a further eight, previously unpublished, accounts by John H. Watson, M.D. These adventures bring Holmes and Watson face-to-face with thieves and murderers as well as bringing them into contact with the murky worlds of espionage and spiritualism.

Why does a widow refuse to meet the orphaned daughter of her oldest friend?

Who is responsible for the theft of monogrammed napkins from a dinner party?

Who is sending mysterious gifts to strangers inside yellow boxes?

Why does a respected scientist endorse a medium, bankrupting himself in the process?

Caiden Cooper Myles is a British writer, who has long been a follower of Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson. Like many a devotee of the Great Detective, he has longed to add to Dr. Watson's accounts.

Did not disappoint!

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book since I finished the first one. As a huge Sherlock Holmes fan who knows the original stories inside and out, I’ve seen countless attempts to write new Holmes adventures—and most fall flat. They’re often predictable, and the language feels forced. But this series is different. The author truly captures the essence of Holmes and Watson, especially in their interactions and the way Sherlock speaks.

As for the audiobook, no narrator will ever surpass Stephen Fry, but this one does a fantastic job. Many narrators in other Holmes pastiches are insufferable, but this one is a worthy surrogate. If I can’t have Fry, this is the next best thing.

Excellent set of stories

A very well written collection of stories that feature Holmes and Watson and could easily have been found among the original ACD canon. The narration is outstanding and brings the characters and stories to life.
