Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Monica Murphy kicks off her new College Years series with a forbidden romance between two people who are undeniably drawn to each other …

I started flirting with a guy while waiting for my car to be serviced. Now granted, he wasn’t just any guy. Tall. Dark. Hot. Mysterious. Can you blame me for wanting to talk to him? He’s in town visiting his parents. So am I. He goes to the same college as I do. Such a coincidence. Almost as if our meeting is destined …

But I shouldn’t believe in that sort of thing. I am single as a Pringle and always ready to mingle. Until I keep running into Mr. Tall, Dark, and Mysterious everywhere I go. Tony Sorrento. Turns out he’s on the football team. I mean, I’m not one to chase after a sexy jock but, okay. I’m down. And did I mention he’s only a freshman?

Our fathers are business rivals, and they forbid us from dating. We need to keep this on the low. Can we remain friendly? Sure. Maybe turn our friendship into friends with benefits? Most definitely. Here’s the thing though. I didn’t plan on catching feelings for him so quickly. Seems like he’s falling pretty hard for me too.

Defying our fathers’ wishes is only asking for trouble, but is being with Tony worth the risk?

This edgy bully romance contains dark scenes some listeners may find uncomfortable to read. Listener discretion is advised.

good story but there could have had some fun

with the meddling parents & their wives/girlfriends. I was expecting them to mess with the women's heads a little totally a missed opportunity for some fun there.

Good story, great performance.

I read complaints that the male narrator sounds too old but I came to appreciate the way he read and how it brought the story to life. I LOVED that this story didn’t follow the traditional romance storyline, where it takes 5 hours for them to get together, 2 hours of them being together, and then when there is only 90 minutes left there is some ridiculous tragedy, with them getting back together in the last 15 minutes. There were ups and down of course, but there wasn’t some stupid grand gesture/horrid tragedy at the end. Made it more realistic. I also liked the characters, no one was unlikable.

The Freahman

Great read! I really enjoyed this book. Can’t wait for the Sophomore and Jackson/Ellie’s story

This book was awesome oh wow

Like totally freak me out I mean right on 👏🏽 👏🏽, the Bulldogs sure are number one! That is exciting how I felt reading this! Monica Murphy has a special way about her of mixing sweet innocence with a bit of näughty and life, showing our characters growth as much of them transition from children to adults.
This one was no different but I’m glad this is a spin off of the 2nd series, the Callahans. If you’re old school like me you will know the original series was Two week boyfriend where Drew and Fable fall in love!!🥰
This follows the kids in college years and beyond (pretty sure there is a series about Fables brothers kids in college) as well as a cross over with the Lancasters and Callahans/Bennetts! Love this entire world!!
This particular book hit me in the cheerful feels. Warm, fresh, mellow drama and lots of laughs. Perfect for what I was looking for! I enjoyed watching the entire gang grow and cannot WAIT for Jackson and Ellie’s story.
The narrators added depth, as always, I LOVE C.J. Bloom and Mason Lloyd was new to me and had an older voice, he would have been better suited to an L.J. Shen jaded anti-hero. 😙
All in all, the relationship between Tony and Hayden WAS number 1!

Love this continuation of the Callahan’s stories.

Great story and female narrator. The male narrator sounded much older than 18 and was not convincing the role. However this did not stop me from downloading The remaining books in this series.

You didn’t realize it was a continuation of the Callaghan’s Series but glad it is. Can’t wait for all the stories from this series and find out what has happened to the Callahan crew.

The Freshman

I couldn’t listen to much of this book. Not only is the story juvenile but so are the narrators.
