After Fredrick Prato gets involved with a local drug gang and fights with his girlfriend about selling drugs, he gets on his motorcycle and rides into the night.

Unknown to Frederick, the freeway off-ramp he takes is closed, and blocked by a truck owned by TransAde to prevent oncoming traffic, resulting in a fatal crash. Fredrick's parents and girlfriend are devastated by his unexpected death and sue TransAde for carelessly creating a dangerous situation with the truck.

Daniel Mendoza and his team of attorneys must solve the mystery of why the tragic accident occurred. But can Daniel find out what went wrong, and is there something more sinister behind the scenes?

Solid Legal Liability..Stand Alone

The Fleeing Felon (Daniel Mendoza Thrillers Book 2)
A solid legal liability story about a Native American ex-con, drug dealer, father who is killed in a motorcycle accident when he hits a highway repair truck is parked across 2 lanes. The book follows the liability issues of the legal case that unfolds and the issues of the people's lives associated with the case. The book accurately represent the daily tasks of lawyers and associated professionals. This book works well as a stand alone, even though it is #2 in the author's series. I look forward to going to London in the next story with this team. (Notes to author: more food description please, keep writing : - > )

Daniel Mendoza rights a wrong again

The Fleeing Felon is the 2nd in the Daniel Mendoza courtroom thriller series by Daniel Maldonado. The sort is about the legal aspects of a deadly traffic accident and how the situation is unraveled. As with any unexpected death and wrongful death lawsuit, are a lot of interpersonal drama between the characters. Its entertaining and educational! The minor story line with Daniel and his ex-wife and stepson seemed emotionally cruel to Daniel. It seemed out of character for him to be so wimpy. The narration by Paul David was very good. I enjoyed this book and look forward the next book.

Excellent legal thriller! I loved it!

Frederick Prato was involved in some pretty nefariousness business, things that put him on the wrong side of a lot of people. When he’s involved in a fatal crash, questions abound. His family and girlfriend want answers. When they sue to get them, it falls to attorney Daniel Mendoza and his team to sort it out. The Fleeing Felon is my second Daniel Maldonado legal thriller and it will absolutely not be my last! Written as only an insider can, I was fascinated by the details, the dealings, and what I am sure is more fact that fiction! I thought the characters were extremely well developed, with a good balance between likable, not so much, redeemable and a few you want to leave in the desert! The plot was fantastic! It really made me think, and as with my first Daniel Maldonado thriller, I guessed wrong again! You got me! But boy, the journey was so worth it and in my defense, there WERE plenty of potential suspects from which to choose! I really can’t say more without indulging in spoilers so let me just say that this one challenged me, made me think, made me feel, and made me happier after listening than before! Five stars!

Overall, an enjoyable listen!

I was gifted this book in December, and with the holidays completely forgot about it. My apologies, Mr. Maldonado! I just found the book again, and have to say it was quite good.

I found I didn’t like the victim nor any of the families associated with him. I found Fredrick, the victim, to have few redeeming qualities, his girlfriend to be rather spineless, his father to be greedy, and her father to be a domineering idiot. And then I thought about what a lawyer representing people in a wrongful death suit probably has to deal with. And suddenly I saw the book in a different light.

Daniel Mendoza, the lawyer, tries to negotiate through the various personalities and problems to get to the truth. He is supported by a staff of dedicated people who have their own personalities and problems. So there is a lot going on in the book. I am assuming that the next book will bring those problems to light, but they seemed like a lot of superfulous side stories at the time.

A lot of the detail of the legal data was above my head (autopsy details was WAY over my head) but i still could follow the gist of the info.

Overall, I liked this book. The narrator, Paul David, had a speak-pause that I had difficulty adjusting to to start with, but once I got used to it, enjoyed his narration.

I questioned whether I would have like this book more if I had read it instead of listening, but think that I enjoyed it more listening to it. I think this is a book that deserves a second listen because I think I’ll like it even more than I did first time around.

Take a chance and listen to The Fleeing Felon. I think it’s really good!

I am seeing RED!!!

The females were disappointing. Christine was a manipulative user. She didn't let Daniel see the child he helped raise, but has the gall to ask him to pay for half the wedding. And, if that's not dirty enough she asks him not to attend!!! Ridiculous. I'm seeing red. Daniel was weak and a doormat for the women in his personal life.
Kailyn was too weak also. Her dad was selfish , arrogant, condescending and evil trying to control her and her in laws, not to mention trying to get custody of the kids. I didn't like the outcome with everyone giving in to Edgar. SMH.
I am so disappointed in these people!! Too many concessions given. I'm furious. After listening to this I am very disappointed and disillusioned in people. I am so mad at most of these characters!!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Odd narration and flow

The narrator paused each line halfway through. It sounded like he was starting a new sentence but then I realized he was continuing the last sentence. It was as like this the entire book. I didn’t know if he was trying to emulate a Native American or Hispanic character or if he was it a poor narrator. Either way, I have listened to many audiobooks with excellent narrators and he is not one of them. He also had a monotone with no expression.

I was not impressed by the author’s writing. His attempt to use big words or phrases, when a simpler one would suffice, sounded unnatural and did not result in an even flow. It did not sound like a person would really speak. It was also choppy and did not move from scene to scene easily. This is the lowest score I have given an Audible book and I was very disappointed.
