Publisher's summary

A lesbian medical romance about the powerful breakthroughs we can't always see.

Nadia Keating has barely started her cardiothoracic fellowship training, but she already has the archetype nailed - she's direct, uncompromising, and suffering from a God complex.

Before she can focus on her impressive research, deeply closeted Nadia has a personal project: getting her inconvenient attraction to women out of her system. She picks a stranger online for a one-night stand.

Ashley Rylan, the chief of Nadia's department, is her polar opposite - sweet, agreeable, and soft-spoken - and the stranger Nadia unwittingly chooses.

The two women's meeting is a hostile disaster, and they would love nothing more than to never see each other again. However, their paths keep colliding as Nadia embarks on an ambitious experiment that could lead to a historic medical breakthrough.

Despite warring egos and the secrets they keep, their connection is powerful and growing. Maybe having sex would help them get over their distraction at work? Or would that just ruin everything?

Contains mature themes.

Entertaining

Nadia , while a talented surgeon is irredeemably obnoxious w/o a like able personal quality.
Ashley is Chief of Cardio-thoracic surgery yet is more often than not has the backbone of a wet sponge.

Yet somehow, okay, let’s be real, Abby makes it an enjoyable listen.

Mature and Sexy

I really enjoyed this. I love how intelligent it is. The narration flowed well and was flirty. The sex/ tease scenes were captivating. And the story made sense, mostly. Thank you

Entertaining - somewhat irritating.

One can only take inner dialogs of God complex characters without rolling one's eyes. And let's be real, no one would let a subordinate speak to others the way Keating gets away with. Overall, okay. Maybe a part two to flesh the BGs.

it was good till the end

I was losing everything even though I was a lil peeve that Ashley wasn't as strong as I would have wanted her to be. the ending sucked. why wouldn't she married Ashley and why Ash would accept that... nope didn't like it

Very Entertaining

Great book with interesting characters and storyline. I know little about the medical field and felt that this book did not leave me behind in the storyline thought it takes place in the surgical world. I enjoyed the book.

Lots of twists

This was my first Faith Prize story and I’m hooked! She did a fantastic job of the ice queen-sunshine characters as well as throwing in some twists I wasn’t expecting!! Looking forward to more.

Medical romance focused on the medical

Yes, this is a medical romance with a complicated ice queen and adorable and competent ray of sunshine, but it has a great focus on the medical side of things. I would say it's a medical drama with romance, but it's light on the fuzzy feelings.

Nadia is cold, pig-headed, egocentric, and self-involved. Ashley is sweet, candid, competent, and generous. Together they make an unlikely pair but they do have chemistry. This is of course not a perfect story. The first love scene was so-so but the plot was generally good and I greatly enjoyed all the medical happenings which seemed accurate enough to me.
