Publisher's summary

They stole his crown. So, he stole their daughter…

For years, Erik, the scarred king of the Ever Kingdom, has thought of nothing but vengeance against the man who killed his father and trapped him beneath the waves, making him a prisoner in his own realm.

Until his enemy's daughter unintentionally breaks the chains on the Ever, and Erik makes her the unwitting pawn in his vicious game of revenge.

She's innocent. He's vicious. He will take back what he lost, no matter the price. Unless she steals his heart first.

Welcome to the passionate world of the Ever Kingdom, where pirates, sirens, and fae collide with Vikings in a dark fantasy romance between a villain and the innocent princess who holds his heart.

This book ends on a cliffhanger. This series is set in the same world as the bestselling Broken Kingdoms series but can be listened to independently.

Fabulous Dark Fantasy Romance!

LJ Andrews absolutely knocked this out of the park, and the narration? Absolutely amazing! I loved all of the accents. It made it feel so real. I love Livia and Erik! Our morally grey love interests ✨ fae meets pirates meet Vikings meet sirens. This one is jam packed and absolutely perfection!

Started off good

This was just okay to me. The narrator wasn’t my favorite and maybe that was part of it. I just find I don’t like stories where the hero is painted as a morally grey character but then isn’t really at all. Like they turn into a complete cinnamon roll in all aspects and it’s just not realistic. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll love a cinnamon roll but I don’t like bi-polar characters…are you truly morally grey or are you a cinnamon roll?? Okay, okay I’m rambling now. All to say, I didn’t hate it…I just didn’t love it and with 2 hours left I found my self amping up the speed to get through it quicker!

The female narrator was bad.

I liked it but the female narrator’s intonation was horrible. It kept me from liking the book more. I am reluctant to read the next book because it has the same narrators.

The story is a wobbly 3 star. It was boring in the beginning and took time to get into. The ending is a cliffhanger but I doubt I will read it.

Over dramatic instant enemy to lovers

Too mushy for me. Would have preferred more plot and build up before they were in love.

THE REAL MORALLY GRAY LOVE

I have been in such a reading funk and this took me RIGHT OUT of it!! this had the enemies I wanted and the villainous man of my dreams
the narrator for Erik Bloodsinger was absolutely perfect, and I loved the performance!!

the plot never got boring for me, at no point did I feel like the story was just filler, or fluff. the plot and story telling kept me engaged the whole time. I will most definitely be finishing the entire series!

Cute story but terribly distracting male narration

The story is adorable but I had to finish this book on Kindle because the male narrator used the most distracting cadence I have ever heard. He made statements sound like questions and questions sound like he was running out of breath. Pretty sure the Male Main Character wasn’t written to be an airhead but that’s we get with this performance. It’s hard to get lost in the story when it’s read like a joke. Seriously, do they not have artistic direction for audio performances?
