Delightful

Two sisters Roxy and Ruthie and their friend Lizzie. Then with the grandmother who is a character. These are filled with plenty of mayhem and laughs. Jilted at the altar and go on a honeymoon anyways that’s advice from the grandmother. The characters came out in each story and a delight to read. Given ARC audio of and narration was good, for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Absolute hilarity!

Author Ann Omasta certainly shows her comedy chops in this trilogy of three brides and their grooms, a cross between The Love Boat and The Bachelorette, whatever can go wrong will go wrong when the cameras are rolling. Each book is full of wonderful characters, but Grandma Baggy tops them all! Look no further for some loving, fun and wild entertainment. I thought these books were fun to read, but they’re even more fun to listen to. The narrator was terrific!

Great Read

The Escape Series (Books One through Three) was another great box set by Ann Omasta. This box set consisted of; Getting Lei'd, Cruising for Love, and Island Hopping. These books follow three women on their tropical getaways and finding love when they least expect it. This was another great read by Ann Omasta and I can't wait to read more by her.

Three sweet romances with a whole lot of crazy

This is a fun set with three romances with fun characters, and some wild and whacky scenarios on the road to HEA.

An okay romance

Getting Lei'd

Roxie gets dumped by text on her wedding day. Her grandmother and sister, in a sense, kidnap her and take her to Hawaii, which is where the honeymoon was supposed to be. Roxie immediately falls for the handsome Ki. As well, Baggie (the grandmother) and Ruth, the sister, also find romance.

Roxie is the sensible one, so she goes home when she is supposed to, only to make a impulsive decision in the hopes of finding true love.

I can give this a lot of leeway, being that it's a romance set of books, so suspend your disbelief over a) Roxie not mourning or being angry over being jilted, b) her immediately falling in love with a complete stranger, and c) no repercussions over her decisions. It's a nice escape for readers.

Cruising for Love

Roxie's sister Ruth has been approached by a talent scout to become a contestant on a reality TV show set on a cruise ship.  The first episode is a blind marriage. Then Ruthie discovers that her high school crush is also on the cruise and he seems to be very interested in her as well.

I know this is a romance book and the reality show and cruise is just backdrop to the romance and it's ups and downs, but I found the entire concept very unrealistic and annoying. Besides the fact that in a lot of ways Ruthie deserves every problem she got for not even reading the contract, the idea that the show was not even professional enough to make sure she had a  ticket - nor did Ruthie question the fact that she didn't have a ticket onto the cruise should be the first indication of how this book would continue.

Again, suspend belief, give this book a lot of leeway because it is a romance and the plot seems superficial to the idea of the romance itself. And let's just hope Ruthie remembers that the marriage on the cruise that started this reality show, needs to be dissolved before her HEA can really begin.

Island Hopping

This time it's Lizzie, the best friend who ruined Rose's first wedding day. She's the black sheep now, no one in the family wants to know her. The TJ, the croc from the show that Ruthie was involved in, approaches her with an idea - join the cast to try to prevent the chaos the show will set up to put obstacles in the way of Ruthie's upcoming marriage to Andrew.  The story has its usual sub plot of the show - how this 'show' is done is astounding - no structure at all - and why don't the main characters question whether or not they have everything - airplane tickets, reservations, etc.? Are the producers of these shows that incompetent?  Of course the snafu of Lizzie not having a hotel room to stay in at the resort is circumvented by a surfer dude hunk, Shay, who offers Lizzie the use of his room down the beach; of course, this means that Lizzie misses the welcoming banquet - does this show not keep track of it's cast and crew?

Honestly, I actually enjoyed this third book the most. I'm really not sure why the plot line of the reality tv show, because it really had little to do with the books except to make things difficult for the characters. And this book didn't need that - and considering that there seemed to be only two episodes of the program this time around, what was the point? There was enough other obstacles put in the way that the plot line of the tv show was really unnecessary.  So, overall, I think this particular plot line got in the way of a decent set of romance stories.

A great story from a very good author

Getting Lei'd (Escape #1), my twenty-third read from author Ann Omasta. After having read Aloha, Baby! (Escape #0.5), & planning on reading the rest of the Escape Series books I found myself side-tracked by The Pet Set Trilogy: Goofy Newfies, Itty Bitty Kitties & Funny Bunnies. This is another, entertaining, and well-written HEA read from her (as narrator the author does a wonderful job). I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Now on to Cruising for Love (Escape #2).

Cruising for Love (Escape #2), my twenty-fourth read from author Ann Omasta. Another, entertaining, and well-written HEA read from her (as narrator the author does a wonderful job). I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Now on to Island Hopping (Escape #3).

Island Hopping (Escape #3), my twenty-fifth read from author Ann Omasta. Another, entertaining, and well-written HEA read from her, maybe the best of the three (as narrator the author does a wonderful job). I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Now on to Daring the Judge (Daring Desires #5). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

predictable

I've tried a couple books by this author now. Very predictable and not enough to keep me interested.

Couldn't Finish

I am not sure if it was the narration or the storyline but I couldn't finish this trilogy. The 1st book's storyline was decent but the narration really made it hard to enjoy. The 2nd book is where I gave up. The heroine in the story is not likable. Maybe this is because of the way the heroine in the 1st book described her sister. I started book 2 already disliking the heroine of the story. Around midway through book 2 I gave up. Maybe if there was a different narrator or I could physically read this book but as it stands it's a no for me. Wish I could get my credit back.
