Great Advice!
I really liked The Emotional Intelligence Effect. It made emotional intelligence feel approachable, not just like a buzzword. The explanations around self-awareness and empathy were easy to understand, and I found the tips on communication and relationships really helpful. It gave me a better understanding of how I show up with others and what I can do to improve.

More “Ohhh, That’s Why” Moments Than I Expected
I went into this hoping to feel a little less awkward in tricky conversations; and came out realizing how much I’ve been missing, even with people I’m close to. It’s not heavy or preachy, just filled with stuff that made me pause and rethink how I respond. I’ve caught myself reacting differently in real-time, and it feels good. Not perfect, but better. Like I’m not just guessing what people need from me anymore.

Perfect timing
There has never been a better time to read a book like this. With political tensions in many countries, I have seen how terrible we can be to each other, especially when sitting behind a keyboard. This book reminds us that what we say and do affects how we start to see each other and ourselves. Technology allows us to hide behind that keyboard and say things we would never utter face to face. Everyone who is on social media should read this!

Emotional skills I didn’t know I needed
This audiobook helped me realize how often I default to reacting instead of responding, especially in conflict. The part on identifying emotional patterns before they spiral really stuck with me—I’ve already caught myself doing it differently. I also appreciated how it reframed empathy as a skill I could actually develop, not just something you either have or don’t. It's the kind of guide that quietly changes how you show up in your relationships.

Self Awareness and solving problems
We are all good at something and have gained some intelligence in school. The audiobook promotes self-awareness and social skills. One example I can share is when I am waiting for a bus stop. I need to be aware of my surroundings and show how we can help them because I can solve problems depending on their situation. My brother has some addictions that reflect how the family communicates. Addiction can steal away our agency, making it hard to get back on our feet. Another example is alcohol, which changes your mood, and there’s always help. I enjoy the audiobook.

EI Access
I enjoyed the way in which this book brings this topic forward; the use of quotes at the beginning of each topic discussion front loads the understanding of what will follow. The Importance of Emotional Intelligence in different setting such as ,work, family and relationships is presented with clear examples to help foster its practice. The audio book also bring up the topic of how Emotional Intelligence take effect in the different social media platform types and in multicultural setting. This is a useful guide for putting into practice and ides that was considered about 30 year ago for its usefulness but that is seldom utilized.

better communication
Not my first audiobook on emotional intelligence, but is definitely still a great add. I’ve always struggled with reacting too quickly in conversations, especially when stressed. This book gave me small but powerful mindset shifts that made me pause and think before responding. Some stuff was common sense, sure, but hearing it framed like this helped it really stick. Easy to apply, too.
