About this listen

When Zabat’s Comet threatened to destroy the planet, society ripped itself apart in violent, hedonistic glory. But instead of bringing extinction by fire, the comet unleashed a cloud of hazardous dust over the Pacific Northwest. Within it lurks a sinister alien being that both threatens annihilation and promises transcendence.

While some unite to destroy the force field containing the dust, others put their lives on the line to keep it contained. Humanity faces a new set of challenges that put into question the very essence of what it means to be human.

I’ve read the book and now I get to listen to it. It’s a great story with a great sequel.

Good plot, believable. Great detail. Well distinguished characters. There was some time skipping which didn’t hinder the plot but with the timeline of the plot being so moment to moment, it left questions.
Narrator is great!
I recommend!

Good, well thought out plot

I absolutely loved this series! It would make an amazing tv series. Do yourself a favor and check this one out. Eloise Knapp does a fantastic job building characters and worlds that you can’t get enough of. Throw in Andrew Wehrlen as the narrator and you have yourself a dynamic duo!
If you like spaceships, aliens, robots, ancient aliens seeding the earth, humans morphed in to scaled creatures, psychic powers…. Basic survival. It’s here in all of its glory!
This is the second series I’ve listened to by this author and I am now a super fan!

Good storyline. I enjoyed how it focused on the viewpoint of different characters during different characters. The narration was also done well...Recommended... can't wait for third book!!

Great second book to compliment the first.

This is the second book I have read/listened to by this author and I really want to hear how this story finishes.
I am enjoying the alien twist on the apocalyptic outline. And although there are some unavoidable human traits that need to be expressed during an apocalyptic event, her story is still fresh and different. This book has less of the truly disturbing side of humanity, but the author definitely does not shy away from difficult topics.
This is a continuation on from where book one left off with a cliffhanger.

This is the 13th book I have listened to by this narrator and I think he reads this genre very well. He brings out the characters personalities and gives each of voice. He does not really use accents to differentiate, but the characters are distinguishable. His style helps draw me into the story and to forget someone is reading to me.
I don’t think I have been disappointed yet by a book he has chosen to narrate.

There is a background noise to the audio quality, but after the first book, I am used to it. That is my only reason for putting the narration as 4/5.

There are no explicit sex scenes, there is discussion of child abuse and violence, but it is not overly described. I believe there is some swearing, but very minimal that I don’t even remember much of it.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Greatly want to listen to book 3 to hear the end!

I couldn’t get into this one and after two books I could never identify with any of the characters.

It her best.
