Guardians of the Galaxy meets The Hobbit in this rollicking fantasy adventure.
It's not easy to live in a world ruled by dragons. The taxes are high, and their control is complete. But for one group of bold misfits, it's time to band together and steal back some of that wealth.
No one said they were smart.

I didn't want to stop listening to this book. I wanted to call in sick at work and listen all day. I recommend this to anyone. Even if it's not your typical pick I think you would enjoy this one.
A must have audio

Story keeps you glued, stickier than Goblins.

Ive read a lot of fantasy / sci-fi over the decades and many audio books more recently. This is Far Better than the bulk of those self published LitRPG stories that have a dozen+ books and thousands of reviews… and it deserves a much larger audience.
Think of the series as a mix of grimdark and dark humor - just enough of the latter and done right without stumbling into silly or immature.
The characters are well developed and interesting. Could even say “diverse” too, and in the right way, without bowing to today’s childish / hypocritical politics. The female characters are involved and capable, and not mere props… nor are they ridiculous Marvel kiddie nonsense,
Narration is done well… pacing is good, characters are distinctive and fitting, voice is clear and easy / enjoyable to listen to.
The drunken old man alone is excellent… but then the lizard man and the rest of the characters are all good too. Each interesting and well developed. Each with their own flaws and dark impulses.
Given a chance, I think most would like this.
This is really quite good
