Publisher's summary

Listen to the book that ignited the Divine Mercy movement in the Church!

The Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul is the book that sparked the Divine Mercy movement. It now has more than 1,000,000 copies sold to date. It is a book for every Catholic's library - one that many will want to keep next to their Bible for constant insight and inspiration.

The Diary is an amazing narrative that chronicles the experiences of a simple, uneducated Polish nun who received a special call shortly before the outbreak of World War II. Our Lord appeared to her and instructed her to spread the message of his Divine Mercy to all - especially important in our current age, which is full of so much distress and worldliness.

The message of the Divine Mercy is simple. It is that God loves us all of us. And he wants us to recognize that his mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon him with trust, receive his mercy, and let it flow through us to others. The Diary is truly a vehicle of grace for all who listen to it, for in listening to it one can realize the truth that mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to God's mercy (Diary, 300).

About the author

Sister Faustina was a young nun living in Cracow, Poland, in the 1930s. Despite having only three years of formal education, she recorded extraordinary revelations from Our Lord, which she compiled in notebooks known today as the best-selling Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska. In 1979, the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, lead by Father Seraphim Michalenko, were instrumental in bringing it in its rough, typewritten form out of Poland.

On April 30, 2000, Pope John Paul II canonized St. Faustina and called for the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday as the Sunday after Easter.

I loved all the visions she shares in detail of Mary and Jesus. The reader is pleasant to listen to

amazing diary of a great Saint

I love this diary, but I cringed throughout as BOTH narrators mispronounced a number of words, which drove me absolutely insane. Please research pronunciations before you finalize your recording!

I think I've found my patron saint.

This book has me by times frightened, relieved, joyous, sorrowful, and a few other things! Parts of her story are all-too-familiar for anyone with ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis), and probably many others with disability and/or chronic illness would say the same.

Indwelling

I listen to her every night while I sleep to protect myself when I’m the most vulnerable. In this way I’ve read her diary twice so far. And the narrator modulates the pitch of her voice just right for the humble and holy aspect of this nun-turned-saint. St. Faustina is not a substitute for Jesus. God forbid. She just so happens to be the greatest model I’ve ever come across for one who has perfectly aligned herself with Jesus. Listening to her document the ultimate experience of Indwelling teaches me how to live with God in my life ❤️

Mercy and justice

I need to find out if anyone has studied this text in relation to Plato’s Euthyphro. Seems like big relevance

A Revelation of Divine Mercy

Reading The Diary of St. Faustina has radically altered my understanding of God's vast and infinite mercy. St. Faustina's writings reveal how deeply God desires the salvation of all men, and this has inspired me to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, especially for the sick and dying. St. Faustina is a saint for our modern world, and her life devoted to God shines through beautifully in her writing. This book will bring anyone who reads it closer to God, making it an essential read for those seeking to deepen their faith.

Jesus I Trust in You

One of the most important works ever written in understanding God’s Divine Mercy!

That being said, i don’t exactly love how this is performed. The reader, curiously one-note in her delivery, has perfect diction and an imperfect grasp on the subject matter. Consistent mispronunciation of simple Catholic terms (e.g., “novena”), critical names (e.g., Fr. Sopocko), and reading the parenthetical explanations as though they eye pet of the narrative…all keep jarring me out of the moment.

Still, a great way to inset the Diary into daily life.

The prayer of a saint

Great production of Saint Faustina's diary. The charisms of her prayer life and the nature of her conversation with God may not be granted to everyone, but all can benefit from her trust in Jesus and realize everyone is called to friendship with Jesus and a holy happy life
