Different spin on Andrew Luster

What about Elijah Alexander’s performance did you like?

Elijah Alexander gave a very good performance. I would listen to him again.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

In one day anyway.

Any additional comments?

The Devil's Bounty starts out with a bang - literally. A young woman is shot I'm the abdomen trying to find Ryan Lock. Obviously there are people out there who don't want her to find him, don't want him helping her or getting involved in any way. Lock patches her up and rushes her to the hospital where he gets the story.
Seems there's a fugitive (Charlie Mendez) on the run, sentenced to prison with out parole for raping young women with the use of a date rape drug and video taping the whole thing. He runs to Mexico and that's where the similarities end. This guy had some pretty bad people looking out for him and then the murders of the young factory workers is worked into the story.
This book is hair raising and very entertaining as long as you don't think about the fact that some of this is loosely based on reality. Moves along at a good clip.
The Ryan Lock character reminds me very much of Nathan McBride by Andrew Peterson. I have enjoyed both of these series immensely.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Hesitant at first, glad I got it anyway.

The last Lock and Ty novel ended so darkly, I was uncertain that I would go on with the series. I decided to give this one a try and I am glad I did. thr narration on this one was much better than the last, and the story redeemed a lot of things for me regarding the overall character arcs of Lock and Ty.
These books are grittier than I normally like, but they are growing on me. worth the read and listen.

Excellent suspense novel in an...

...inconsistent series. With The Devil's Bounty, Book 4 in the series, Sean Black finally delivers a 5 star suspense thriller in his Ryan Lock series Lock is a bodyguard/personal protection specialist along with his partner/employee Ty Johnson. In this novel they go to the badlands of Mexico to recover rich playboy Charlie Mendez who was convicted of the rape and murder of several young female college students before escaping while awaiting sentencing. Mendez is being protected by a drug cartel. The suspense is intense and the story line is realistic and interesting.

I could not finish this book...

I got to chapter 61. and had to call it quits. I just couldn't get into the story and characters. I rarely do not finish a book, will keep reading to the end to give it a chance to take me into the plot. I purchased the kindle book too, I will try reading it to see if it was the narration, but I don't think so...
