Publisher's summary

The lying shepherd himself found that everyone had seen through his facade, undeceived by his cries. The villagers cannot love him or believe him because they know of his dishonest deeds. So, he decided to tell lies bigger and bigger to deceive the others again.

interesting story.

the story of the Deceiving Shepherd is interesting and fun for kids. It attempts ti teach how dangerous greed can be

<Spoiler coming> but I think it somewhat fails since the Deceiving Shepherd is never stopped and he manages to get all he wanted in life <End Spoiler>

I get what the story is doing but I had to explain to my kids what the real message was. "Being greedy can destroy you."
